Live Poker Is Rigged
A three-way monster all in...
Don Tran: Ac-As
David Hong: 6s-6d
Josh Chait: Ah-Ks
Board: Ad-7d-10d-8d-5d
That 5d on the end was juuuussst enough for Hong's to play, and he won the whole lot, putting him up to 350,000. Tran is still just fine on 435,000, but Chait is scraping the felt on a mere 40,000.
Egg ya boi JC just doubled up to 245k

do they only update chip stacks of certain players live on poker news site?

I would rate them
Mortenson
Ferguson
Eastgate
Hachem
Raymer
Gold
Moneymaker
Yang
Varkonyi
This is my opinion:
Eastgate: There are ALOT of people who consider him to be the best player to ever win a main event.
Ferguson: The man has literally written books on game theory. There are few people in the world who are on his level when it comes to understanding game theory and no one is on his level when it comes to applying it towards poker. A true genius.
I would put these in same category:
Mortenson
Raymer
Moneymaker-He has really worked hard on his game and over the last couple of years has really gained the respect of the community.
Hachem- I guess the guy has to go in this category. I just cant stand him.
The remaining group I wouldnt touch with your money:
Yang
Varkonyi
Gold

It can certainly be argued but what is and always will hold Ungar back in this argument is that he never played in todays game. The game just isnt what it was 20 years ago, hell not what is was 5 years ago.
Taking nothing away from Ungar though, his results prove that he was before his time.

The Mischief of Kenny Tran
In between two hands, Kenny Tran stood up from his table and meandered around the room a tad. He stopped at Table 8 where Antonio Esfandiari was sitting with only his socks on, his sandals tucked safely under his chair. So he thought, anyways. While Esfandiari was distracted by a hand in progress, Tran made the Magician's sandals disappear.
He walked across the room to find a floor person doing some work in the corner and said, "Hey, the player who was just knocked out left his sandals." The floor person grabbed them and shot off across the room. About a minute later, Tournament Director Jimmy Sommerfield's voice came booming over the PA system: "The player who just busted at Table 18. You left your sandals behind. Table 18 bustout, come get your sandals."
It looks like Esfandiari still isn't clued in to the fact that his footwear has gone AWOL. There is a break approaching though.

New Chip Leader. Akenhead Breaches 3 Million Mark
James Akenhead has doubled up to become the first player over 3 million chips.
Eracles Panayiotou raised to 26,000 from the cutoff and Akenhead made it 80,000 from the small blind, Panayiotou called.
The flop was Qd-7s-3s and Akenhead bet 130,000, Panayiotou called and they saw a 8c turn. Akenhead bet 190,000 and Panayiotou raised to 430,000.
Akenhead called this time before checking the Kc river. Panayioutou set the Brit all in for his remaining 800,000 or so and Akenhead immediately called with the nuts, KdKc for top set. Panayiotou's bluff with 6c4s was caught completely cold

All In and Mucked
J.C. Tran opened the pot with a raise from middle position, and the action passed to Estelle Denis. She moved all in, and the table folded back around to Tran. Somwhere in the folding frenzy though, Denis' cards were pulled into the muck, leaving her all in with no cards.
"Floor!"
This was a matter for Tournament Director Steve Frezer, and he was at the table in no time. He listened carefully to the dealer and to Denis before making his decision. The rule is that the player is 100% responsibly for protecting their own cards, and Denis failed to do that. A long but civil argument ensued with Denis gesturing wildly, shaking her head, and glancing back and forth at her foe, the dealer.
By rights, Frezer probably could have taken her whole stack, but he showed a little mercy and only took enough chips out of her stack to cover the initial call. The remaining 110,000 of her chips were returned to a very upset Denis.
