i hear you man. Hellmuth is a dick all the time at the poker table but i'm sure he's a nice guy away from the felt. Phil just looks more focused than angry to me imo.

Action Sloooooooooows
If you've looked at our Prizepool and Payouts page, you probably noticed that the 28th-place finisher will receive $253,941. What you may not have noticed is that the 27th-place finisher will receive $352,832. That's a $99,000 difference for finishing one place higher.

It should be no surprise, given that difference, that play has tightened up massively. Even with four tables in play, there's not a whole lot going on right now. Nobody wants to be the player who busts in 28th place and misses out on an extra six figures -- not to mention the extra TV exposure ensured by coming back tomorrow.
frick that give me my 254k and let me go home

damn Ivey down to 11 million...

down to 27 players

quote:

Joe Ward Eliminated in 28th Place ($253,941)

Jamie Robbins and Joe Ward got their entire stacks in before the flop, Robbins having Ward out-chipped by about 200,000.

Ward AsKh
Robbins AhQc

The flop was Ad-Tc-8d, Ward still in the lead. The turn was the 2d but the Qh cruelly spiked on the river to end his Main Event run in 28th place.

After the hand, Robbins was up to 8.7 million.

If he had AA, the only thing that beats him is QQ or x3 (which is unlikely). You don't insta-fold in that situation. He most likely was bluffing.

Nick Maimoni is in 19th place right now, i used to beat him at poker when we were freshmen and sophomores in college, if he wins it all i will prolly always question how i might have faired

You do realize that Nick is currently the 59th ranked online player in the world? I am not saying you didnt beat him but he has obviously dedicated himself to the game and done everything it takes to make himself one of the premier players in the world.

ivey's personality really does leave much to be desired, but i don't really mind it at all. leave it to negreanu, lederer, raymer, etc. to be the nice guys/ambassadors of poker. leave everything else to ivey and hellmuth.

ok 67% vs 32% big deal.

Dude won't blow that money. He's smart with it.

Some tidbits about Ivey.

quote:

1. Phil Ivey, according to many people in the game, is one of the most winningest players in the "Big Game."

2. Phil Ivey, as part of the Corporation, won a significant amount of money from Andy Beal.

3. Phil Ivey is a very successful tournament player.

4. Phil Ivey once signed up for a $10 million dollar SNG. Only one other player signed up.

5. He has enough money to "forget" that he had $750k in chips stashed at the Commerce casino.

Estimates on his liquid poker / gambling bankroll? Adding everything up, you would have to say at least $25 - $35 million.

Now, when you start talking about his total net worth, you need to include:

1. His stake in Full Tilt Poker

2. His real estate investments.

3. Any other investments.

quote:

I would guess that Ivey has between $35 - $45 million in liquid assets and another $35 - $45 million in net worth due to his stake in Full Tilt Poker. Again though, this is just pure speculation. There is no doubt that Phil Ivey is incredibly rich though.
