I can't imagine changing gears from the loose low stakes games to playing in the main event. Seems like not even the same game.

I had to choose to either play live or online. Could not do both at the same time b/c of how different they were.

And yes- it’s a brutal mind-f—k playing the fish around here and then flying out to Vegas to play the main event and 5-10nl. I def have to approached hands way differently.
my buddy who's kinda decent in cash games in Houston poker rooms went to vegas recently and played with the locals there.

he said those old dudes grinded him the frick down.

reminds me of the one scene in rounders where the tourists sit down with the locals

My friend is a pro in Vegas and it's NIT/grinder city until the really big stakes.

That's why he moved to LC for like 6 mos to play with me in LC. Much bigger/easier game.

TX poker rooms are probably like that and Florida is still juicy from what I heard.

TX Poker rooms are soft as Charmin and play as if they were much bigger.

A lot of those fish (at least from Houston to Orange including the Golden Triangle) did the same stuff in LC back in the day

I def play with an entirely different mindset when playing online vs live- mtt vs cash etc.

I played the majority of the plo live games that were happening in br a few years back. ..they were awesome for the most part. I knew items only a matter of time until all the fish that were taking shots in that game went broke(or figured out they sucked) and that happened. The new version of that plo game that happens isn’t that great. I don’t even bother with it. If my soul purpose of life was to find the best cash games possible, I would def live in East Texas. Unfortunately I have other things that are more important here,(kids/famiky/bueiness) so I don’t. Once my kids graduate hs/college I will prob get the f out of here…

The poker tournaments at the casinos in Tunica around 2006 were the best.

They were pretty awesome. I used to follow this random construction business owner guy to whatever cash game he played in. He just spewed thousands and hour.

Tunica is down to one measly poker room, whole place is pretty much dead. The Horseshoe poker room is pretty solid for tournaments though. I much prefer tournaments. I play in East Oklahoma now for the most part.

This looks like the crowd to ask. Is it possible to play online poker if i Iive in Louisiana? I have not looked into this in a long time, but would love to throw a little money down somewhere if it is possible.

Some of the guys from the LC PLO game went to BR to crack it open, per them to me, the few time I played.

The one here was a semi-friendly game of rich (Doctors and up) guys. Stacks sometimes got in to the $50k+ range (after playing all night). I would only play that game if I opened it, b/c there was a max stack initially.

ACR, Ignition, and Global Poker are the 3 major networks that any state can play in (I think). However none of them are licensed and regulated in the US so theoretically they could just frick off with your money at any time.
If I was going to start online again I'd probably be utilizing a crypto wallet and using crypto as my buy in cash out method.

Thanks for the insight. I figured that whatever i put in should just be viewed as lost money for entertainment purposes (of course, i may change my tune if i run up some winnings). I will check these places out.

I play all over, 1/2 or 1/3 games are soft everywhere. I do think the 2/5, 5/10,are tougher in Vegas. PLO games are tougher in Vegas imo compared to Miami/Houston which are the biggest PLO cities to me.

LA games are soft, if he wanted to stay in that area that would have been a better move.

Texas issue is having a proper bankroll. If you are a pro who is rolled properly, you can get some great games there. Houston is easier compared to Dallas but Dallas games play larger.

Chip leader coming into today ran his KK into AA. He got the short stacked and then eliminated. I bet he went to sleep the night before thinking about the final table and making millions. What a cruel game.
