Def not the teacher now.
Dad was involved in "something" gangsta.
My money is still on the detectives boyfriend.. i just dont like that guy and he has no point being in the show so far. just these cameo appearances makes him just far enough away from the mind to make him fishy to me. It is a long shot but since the 1st episode I am sticking with him.

Its the Dad's friend that he took the money from. He's mob and they are usually connected to government.

I think that was the dad's dad - Grandpa.

So I called the Sterling in the video thing, as many did, I am now saying it is not the teacher but someone who found out about them. Also the dad is going to get arrested for either paying someone off to take out who he thinks murdered his daughter or doing it himself.

I know I'm a newb here, but how about this. The current mayor is promoting some new waterfront investment as part of his campaign. Jasper's dad owns over half of the real estate on that waterfront(stated after the dad barges into the questioning of his son at the school), therefore potentially making him even more filthy rich. The mayor race is getting very close so the mayor and Jasper's dad come up with a plan to make the councilman look really bad. They decide to have someone killed, and dump the body in a car tied to the councilman's campaign. Now the only problem is who to have killed. The dad doesn't like the girl Jasper is seeing because she is "beneath" them in his eyes, and people get more outraged over a child's death.
Just a thought, and maybe the dad's tie to the "mob" had something to do with his daughter's death as well.

That is a better theory than I can come up with. I don't have the mental motivation to try to figure it out. I'm lazy. I'll just let the season play out to see who the Killa is.

I like that theory but, I think it will end up being something simple. Like Jasper finding out she was fricking the teacher and killing her.

I'm really liking this show in a depressing sort of way. Much different feel to go through the family's pain over several episodes versus the 5 minutes in a Law and Order.
Anybody know how many episodes this season? I would guess around 13, meaning we're roughly a third of the way through. I'm thinking that at some point everyone will seem guilty, then innocent, then another round that clears everything up and we get down to the final suspects.
Right now the teacher looks guilty, but it will probably be explained away next episode with doubt cast on someone else. Maybe in a few weeks it comes back to the teacher, maybe not.
I'm liking the theory of the fiance. If they have plans of another season after this, something needs to happen to keep the detective in Seattle. Her fiance being a murderer would be nice...plus a good reason why he's getting aggravated about her delaying the move by just a few days. Do we know what he does yet for a living? I would guess if he's the killer there's some kind of remote tie in to the Councilman.

The waterfront/Jasper's dad/councilman theory is intriguing. But what if it was the other way around? What if the current mayor had the murder committed as a smear campaign against the councilman and against Jasper's dad. I think there will be some link between the blonde aide and the current mayor and eventually the killer. My .02

I think the political angle is a complete red herring.

Very possible, but that is one hell of a red herring

Who was leaking the emails? I think they said Adams?
Posted on 4/20/11 at 1:45 pm to RJYH
I don't think there was an email link. It sounded to me like there was a bug planted in the office. That's why they went through the charade of "firing" the one aide.
There was no reason for an elaborate scene between the three if they are all in on it.

I assumed it was his frick-buddy the whole time and that he was just messing throwing her a curve ball by firing the aide.

Did I miss something? When did the show confirm that it is Sterling? I know they said she was in the basement too when they discussed her nosebleeds but did they say that Rosie wasn't down there?
Posted on 4/20/11 at 3:10 pm to okietiger13
They didn't really come out and say it. They asked Sterling why she went down there with Rosie's old boyfriend and she said how she like the attention and that Rosie had already left the party.

It came up while the guy detective was talking to Kris. (And when Sarah was talking to Jasper) And then after when they were talking to Sterling, she said something like "we thought it would be funny if I put on her dress and wig"..
