I sure hope this was moved here form the Poliboard. I'd hate to think this much trash was hanging on this board on the regular.

One of my favorites for sure. I'm really going to miss his show and his storytelling ability. As many on here have already said, he had my dream job.

I don't know if this has been mentioned, but Parts Unknown is leaving Netflix on June 16th for those who want to watch.

He only moved to CNN in '13, and attracted 300K viewers, that translates to 1 in 100,000!

Am I just high or does this seem way off? 1 in 100,000 seems to translate to about 4000 people in the US. It also looks you're saying there's 40 billion Us Viewers but I suck at math so excuse me if I'm off.

I agree 100%. It’s no more or less noble than passing away in your sleep. But if a person is simply done and has no responsibility why is it wrong? It’s an incredibly selfish act if you have others who depend on you emotionally.....but if you don’t? Who gives a frick. It’s your life and your body. It is the ultimate expression of free will. Why would anyone care if a person who is completely alone in the world and just tired of being end their own life?

Science ain’t on your side my friend

Evolving like mad

Just 10000 years no human had blue eyes. Lost of us running about today.

We can also digest milk no water when we couldn’t after being weaned within your 35000 year window. Our brains are also substantially smaller and more efficient. This has lead us to be more social. We also have more disease resistant due to our living in more crowded conditions. If we stop evolving we will cease to exist just like all animals.

He did eat at some fancy restaurants on his shows - usually directed by and wined and dined by some State government.

But he always felt like that wasn't why he came to this particular country. And for me that was the only time he was ever condescending in those environments. This plastic, un-natural State dinners.

His best episodes were always street food.

And he championed street food and poor cuisine despite spending his life as a chef at a fancy French restuarant in NY.

The local-yokels in each state or country is why I watched the show and the street food...when he just hung out with people on pub crawls and ate the bargain basement local faire that was the most interesting.

You could tell he had disdain in situations where he was being manipulated and ushered to restuarants by the government that they thought would put them in a good light...fancy places where all the tables were empty while when on the street or in markets, the places were packed.

And I think he did a great job of that. Showing real life in these countries and what the locals really eat that was always the best part of the shows...and not something that was ultra-touristy.

Simple food traveling is the best food and for once someone showed that.

I guess the best compliment I could give is that after every episode you thought only one thing, I want to go there.

Yep. Hanged himself in a luxury hotel.

The episode where he and Yashar worked the line was great.

Did you even read your own article? That’s a clickbait title. True evolution doesn’t take place unless a mass extinction event happens or we get into a situation where certain traits thrive. We’re not there right now. If anything, we’re about to devolve. Increasing genetic diversity =/= evolution FYI. Again, you don’t understand evolution and if you need to link some crappy clickbait article to attempt to prove your weak point then you should just stop talking

Been watching a lot of Parts Unknown since his passing and in many of the episodes he talks about how lonely he was. Sad

Also the episode where he went to Russia and ate with Boris Nemstov (whom was later murdered) was surreal
