If you've read Ian Fleming's books, Dalton very likely plays the role the most like the character Fleming created

I love License to Kill also. Hot chicks Carey Lowell and Talisa Soto. Davi and Benicio del Toro. You are right, awesome 80's.

Craig movies took all of the swagger, attitude, humor, and fun out of the movies. They might as well have been Mission Impossible or their own thing. The end of the Craig era w/ the woke bullshite killed the franchise. I don't care if they ever reboot the series.

Casino Royale is a top 2-3 Bond movie, IMO. Then the movies jumped the shark. They wasted Craig with those scripts and direction, he was a very good Bond.

Agreed. It's almost perfect and Craig himself was a great Bond. Goldfinger, From Russia With Love and Casino Royale are my top three.

Started my rewatches last night with Dr. No. Looking forward to seeing if my opinions change towards some of the older Bonds, it's been quite a while since I've seen them.

Even the Connery ones are laughably campy. I love them for it, but you forget just how outrageous the plots are, how bad the acting is, how bad the dialogue is, how plain the directing is.

The movies are amazing but if it weren’t for the fact that they created such an icon in Connery and in the character itself, looking back, you’d think the movies would have bombed.

But like Star Wars, when you put yourself in the shoes of the audience of the time, you forgive the acting, the sets, and the plots, and you enjoy what big tent pole cinema used to be: fun.

I agree.

This is a problem sometimes with using modern eyes looking at films and music in the past. I didn't see/hear them when they were released.

My favorite Bond films for each Bond
From Russia With Love - Connery
For Your Eyes Only - Roger Moore
The Living Daylights - Timothy Dalton
Casino Royale / Quantum of Solace (it is one movie in two parts) - Daniel Craig

Not a fan of Pierce Brosnan's Bond?

"GoldenEye" (1995)
"Tomorrow Never Dies" (1997)
"The World Is Not Enough" (1999)
"Die Another Day" (2002)

Also, fwiw, Craig and Casino Royale is probably my favorite as well.

Any answer other than this for Brosnan is sacrilege.
