If I remember correctly it was a love triangle that didn't go Walt's way.
Yeah, that sounds right.

Yeah, there was a flashback early on of Walt and Gretchen waxing poetic about chemicals and shite. I believe they shared a kiss.
Would be my guess as to why Walt never went back.

She's gonna rat and get away clean. Some how Jesse is going to get taken out, my guess is by Walt... Cause Jesse has saved Walt's arse to many times, and no good deed goes unpunished.... Nadia rats on Mike... Skylar rats on Walt... Walt goes out in a blaze of glory.... All just predictions.... Subject to change by this time next week lol

The reason we still have to stomach Skylar is she will be the downfall of the whole operation.
Which is why it makes sense to give her what she wants.. Cut ties with her. Stop holding her hostage under the house.
Get a divorce, giver her a couple million dollars, let her move to another city all together and convince her that he is no longer cooking (shouldn't be that hard) and to let him see the kids every once in a while. She won't bad mouth Walt because then she would have to go into all the dirty shite she has done. Kids already prefer walt anyway
Or he can just keep cooking, let things deteriorate further, and get himself killed and possible his family or end up broke and alone.
Guess there would no longer be a show if he went with option 1 though, huh?
Love this show, just find his reasoning for continuing cooking is flimsy. We have yet to see what walt's big plan is so "everyone wins" though....

I have no idea how a divorce works to be honest, but the mother can just take the kids (one of which who is about to be a legal adult) and just take them away from their father?
I'm saying, I think he could have a normal relationship with his kids, regardless of how much skylar hated him. I don't see why he couldn't.
AndI think your theory of skylar getting the kids to hate him is way off. Walt jr already thinks skylar is the bitch and the girl is like 6 months old. Hard to convince a little girl to hate her daddy if he's good to her
She can't take them legally without good reason, but illegally she could just take them and go. I'm not sure of anything on this show anymore and it's awesome

He better do it quick before she plumps up again. Cutting her up like they did the bike would be messy.

I'm thinking Skylar somehow gets the Ricin pill and offs herself. I'm wondering how the watch will factor in. He talked about it with his BIL and they made sure to show it when he cut himself loose last night.

Anyone else annoyed as frick by Skylar? Really wishing she would get offed at some point. To me she is not providing any storyline anymore, merely nuisance. I don't know why the hell she acts so outrageously mad/sad at Walt for the situation.
Alas! The obligatory "I hate Skyler post!"

You think? My money is on Jesse, but won't be surprised if it's Skyler or even Mike. However, Walt is becoming his own worst enemy.

Anything to the whistling?
It's been so long since I've watched the other seasons and I just watched once, anything to it, like the tune or something from a previous show, or was Jesse just surprised how easily Walt went back about his business?

Yes. It told Jesse that Walt is a crazy SOB with no conscience.

that's what I thought, but thought maybe there was even more to it than that because it seemed familiar.

i was trying to figure out what song it was, it was either a game show theme or an intro to a sitcom. Couldn't pinpoint it

thats what i thought. Jesse is so paranoid that he will connect whatever song or jingle walt whistled to the kid that was poisoned. I don't know, but it was definitely significant.

I think it was "Whistle While You Work"
Kind of sounded like Bob Marley to me - Don't worry … 'bout a thing

How could it be tied back to the kid he poisoned?
I'm pretty sure it was just showing that Walt didn't really care about having to kill a little kid
He had just gotten done comforting Jesse saying how terrible of a thing it was, then he sent Jesse home to take the day off
Walt then proceeds to whistle some light-hearted tune, signifying his despair over the boy dying had already left his thoughts... Again, furthering the inevitable separation between Jesse and Walt
Edit: I guess I could see how Jesse could think that if he didn't care about the boy on the dirt bike, then maybe he could have poisoned his girlfriends son.... I see what you're saying about that

from what i found it was Bob Marley's, Don't Worry bout a thing

i just have a habit of trying to connect the dots. you're probably right. the timing makes sense like you said, just further dehumanizing Walt in Jesse's mind. it always makes jesse's head spin when Walt comes clean about things.. like when he told him his wife is counting down the days til he gets cancer again, then saying the empire was all he had left.
I cannot wait to see what Walt has in mind with the guys from AZ. I actually understand why he won't take the money and run. It's all about ego and making something for himself.
