bruno is his best character to me b/c he makes the shallow look shallow. the pr girls, brit gastineau, and the baby scenes were all far ahead of anything borat did (and funnier than any comedy scene since maybe borat. all way ahead of anything the hangover had to ofer) other than when he brought the shite out to the dinner party

I think Borat as a character is much funnier, but I agree that Bruno can make people say and do worse stuff.
My favorite parts were the PR girls and the showbiz parents. Just exposing people's natural stupidity as opposed to touching another guy while he's having sex.

Putting Ron Paul in a ridiculous situation like that just isn't funny though. Now getting Ron Paul to say something dumb in an interview would've been great, but he pushed it too far.

I agree. I thought Ali G was clearly the best character on that show. I haven't seen Bruno, it from the clips and his appearance on t.v., it doesn't really seem like the same Bruno character from the show. Not only does he look so much different, Bruno from the show seemed to be a good bit smarter than this version. He was in on the joke whereas this one seems to just be a part of it.
Where does SBC go from here? Can he re-invent himself and still satirize?

I'm a big fan of Dr. Paul and was more wincing during that part of it...out of all the people to go after....Paul would be my last choice.

that part was wild. I was laughing pretty hard during that.
but alot of the theatre was silent until he got more and more extreme..it was like the avg. person couldn't figure out the joke.

...i swear I was laughing at parts when the whole theater was silent and then when everyone else was losing their minds, I wasn't all that amused. It was weird.

Secondly, I thought Bruno was hilarious. After reading the comments yesterday I thought the whole thing would just be an hour of a dick on the screen. The parents were hilarious, the swingers scene was hilarious, if I hadn't already seen the clip in the barracks with his finger in the guys 'alley' on the previews that would have been a lot funnier.
If you're not uptight and can handle less male nudity than any porno that we all watch then you'll probably laugh your arse off. If you are then you probably wouldn't be going to see it in the first place. I'm not exactly sure what all the naysayers were expecting.
