Fun movie. Being a former high performance computing consultant it made me smile when I saw chappie create a ps4 cluster.

But I stick by my original statement that Johannesburg South Africa is a real shite hole. Reminds me of Detroit.

I also skipped this movie because of the poor reviews, and then watched it because of this thread. And yeah I quite enjoyed it. If you approach it as serious science fiction you'll be disappointed by all of the silly implausible plot elements, but if you can look past that then it's a fun and funny movie.

I was disappointed that it ended up being an action movie. The first previews had me more excited to see it than any other movie this year. It looked like it was going to really get into the whole humanity/AI relationship but it only scratched the surface. I still ended up liking it even though it didn't go where I was expecting it to.

Happy to see this movie is getting some love. I think I was one of the few who saw it in theaters, and I really enjoyed it. Not sure why it got the hate that it did.

**SPOILER**

When Chappie was helping them steals cars and he threw the rubber chicken out in the road to stop one of them and then waved it at the driver I lost it. I'm really not sure exactly why, but I haven't laughed that hard at a movie in a while.

That scene was awesome. I laughed a lot at the movie. Every single time he did the gangsta nose wipe I lost it.

Also the brilliant dark comedy of the armored car robbery when he kept asking the guy with a ninja star in his neck if he was "sleepy". And "No, you don't use guns!"

That guy who did his voice from district 9 and the A-Team who has a name I won't try to replicate and am too lazy to look up has a great voice. He should do more animated stuff.

Yeah I watched this yesterday and thought that the low score on RT was not very fair. I thought it was a pretty decent fun flick.

Finally got around to watching it this weekend. It didn't disappoint, thought it was pretty awesome and fun.

The car jacking scene was pretty

I won't watch it. It's a rip-off of a dozen better movies and by all accounts I've heard, is generic to the core.

It's really pretty good, man. And if you snub every movie that's a "rip-off" then you'll never see a movie again. Everything's been done. You just have to look at how they tell the story differently.
