Its an enjoyable show but at times can be a bit on the nose with their anti capitalist rhetoric. The way they represent the factions is pretty interesting.

I understand the virtue signaling here but as someone who’s played every fallout game at least once through, I can tell you that I’ve never seen a show or a movie stay so true to a video game as Fallout. That rhetoric has been in the game / universe for about 30 years now.

I’d describe myself as a Fallout super fan so I understand I might be biased but nothing in the show has bumped me as being “shoehorned” in for some ulterior motive by the show runners thus far. I’m on S2e2. Fallout has literally always had political and sociological themes running under the somewhat whacky universe. It’s part of what makes the game series so compelling. Just wait if they get deep on the Enclave and Super Mutants - or if they bring the Institute into the mix.

Again I understand the sentiment but they aren’t creating those ideas out of whole cloth

Thats good to hear. I played fallout 3 and it was pretty awesome.

I wish they would make Bioshock into a show.. now that would be epic.. thats the best game ive ever played with the most original story

I would definitely watch that. Mass Effect would be another good one. Red Dead Redemption is a no brainer as well imo. I believe Far Cry is already in motion too.

I’d imagine with the success of Fallout, The Witcher and The Last of Us there will be more to come where serious and talented people / studios get involved. There’s a huge opportunity in games. I couldnt keep watching the Halo show but it had fairly high production quality. I just didn’t like it.

We all know this but the studios get in their own way and you get where The Witcher and Halo ended up. No reason for that to happen other than smugness and inserting their own ideology

played New Vegas once so some of the Easter eggs are a little blurry to me.

"Patroling the Mojave almost makes you wish for a nuclear winter" repeated over and over and over and over and over was textbook new vegas

Is the game this fricking boring? Season 2 has fallen off a cliff.

I wouldn’t say it’s fallen off a cliff, but it’s less enjoyable than season 1.

I never really played the game much, so season 1 was interesting just learning about the fallout world. I think season 1 episodes were also released all together which probably helped as well. The fallout world isnt as new to me anymore, and the storyline in season 2 has not made up for that as of yet.

Caught up now and I'm definitely enjoying it but it is less entertaining than S1 so far though. But it's early on I'm not judging it based on a few episodes.

The flashbacks this past episode were really good and you could tell it is for sure a Nolan/Day show. The flashbacks combined with the score reminded me of scenes in Westworld.

I think anytime a knight of any kind is on screen, it's my least favorite part of the show. I mean they are comically bad at fighting at this point. They are so clunky and slow they aren't even intimidating. Not sure if they were half goofy half kind of bad arse in the game like they are in the show but the goofiness of them kind of makes annoyed.

EP1 and 3 were good. 2 was pretty bad.

I do laugh when I see Lee Russell from Vice Principals come out in the Ghoul character. He had a few lines in EP3 where I was like "That's Lee Russell" haha

I was just thinking this last episode I was fully expecting him to say "I don't give a fug about these ducks!"

Episode 4 is pretty good IMO.

Are we still going with no spoilers in this thread?

The no Sppilers is no Game spoilers. Or leaked eposode spoilers you can discuss the episode.

I watched it last night. I thought it was a good episode. The brotherhood is at war with itself. They finally made it to vegas. We see a razorclaw.
I agree this show is closest ever to the game soirce material.

Also why does Walton goggins have a dei wife in 1950s America

Because many of the Hollywood studios still have shareholder and board driven representation requirements even if it isn’t as advertised or spoken of openly.

That stuff doesn’t go away overnight and often it doesn’t go away at all, it just gets renamed and is done quietly.

Definitely can go with spoilers, it's the season 2 thread. Someone else that is active probably should have started the thread.

So I was under the impression the Deathclaws were a result of radiation from the bombs, (possible spoiler, sorry!)

Yet we see one during the Alaskan campaign which I thought occurred prior to the nuclear exchange?

That’s my only complaint so far.
