Just got back from the movies…I highly recommend. I wasn’t THAT crazy about the ending but you’re on edge the entire movie. Cage has an epic performance.

Unless I’m missing a movie besides Nosferatu it could be the best horror movie of the year

Yeah the ending is what a lot of people are having a problem with. They say it's completely unnecessary

is he like a Hannibal Lecter or just a crazy monster in this?

Is he intelligent?

*Bumped*

Would like some more non-spoiler reviews.

Yes, please.

Would love to know if something is worth dedicating the time without spoiling details of the story, if possible.

Sounds quite positive based on this thread so far.

Ok, so it’s more thriller like seven, zodiac, and silence of the lambs. It’s a very neat very well told somewhat simple story. I quite liked the way it was shot. It’s a really well acted story. The ads claiming it’s the scariest movie in decades is of course hyperbole, but it’s definitely a film that caught me by surprise the way Barbarian caught me by surprise or The Menu as well. It’s just a rather unique tight film with some mystery, tension, and some twists and turns. Again, I don’t want to give anything away and you should go in blind.

It’s reminiscent of Blade Runner with a monologue that would have been better suited just showing instead of telling. Lots of different ways they could have summed it all up but while it’s the weakest part of the film, it doesn’t discount the incredibly strong parts. It’s a fun journey, go in blind. Please. Don’t spoil it for yourself.

Reminds me of a girl I used to date. She’d always read the spoilers before seeing anything. Used to always make me wonder why. “I don’t like surprises” never understood that.

Coincidentally, I had a friend who used to work at a radio station (back in the day) and got free movie tickets. A bunch of us went one night and I recall asking a girlfriend of mine in the theater beforehand, "What is this movie about again... sheep?"

And of course it was Silence of the Lambs.

I literally had no clue what it was about, who was in it — anything at all prior to showing up and watching the film roll.

From that day forward I endeavored to go in as blind as possible whenever I could.

Thanks for the fantastic summary.

Just got out. I really liked this movie until the end. It gets pretty messy at the end. The last few scenes had me going "wait, what, why?". Just some of the choices characters make are kind of weird too

Of course and what an experience to see something for the first time. The only better movie experience is sneaking into a rated R film when you’re under the age. Starship Troopers still holds a special place in my heart because of that unique experience.

Enjoy the film and I’d love to hear your reaction when you do so.

Cheers!

I can't elaborate much because I am the biggest anti-spoiler guy on the planet. I think a lot about his aptitude and characteristics you realize at the end kind of disappointed me, but when more go see it on here I'll elaborate more

I do recommend going to see if you're in the mood to go to the movies.

Side note-The new Alien movie looks pretty predictable but the franchise always reels me back in.

well said. the ending shouldn't diminish how well executed the acting, filming, and story was up until the end.

A buddy of mine posted on his instagram story that he went to see it "Pretty entertaining movie until the end. 6.8"

I told him he was entirely too harsh on the rating and he walked it back. I think he was just that disappointed in the endindg.

I will try not to say too much but my head exploded the idea of the detective going to _________'s home at the end with just one individual after what she just experienced.

I honestly think the ending will get more love as time goes on.
