Where are you guys getting that Dogen came in 2004? did I miss that? I just read an interview with the actor and he said Dogen came to the island about 15 years ago.

well in the other timeline his son was about 14, the same age as Jack's son, at the Piano auditions. that was his son that was 12 when he died in the car accident when he was drinking.

True, but in this timeline Jack doesn't even have a kid so it's not outside the realm of possibility that Dogen's kid could have been born at a different point in time (or hell, he could have 15 kids in the alternate timeline for all we know). I don't think you can necessarily read similarities of the flash sideways timeline into the "present" timeline when the primary thing the flash sideways has shown us is that some characters' lives are drastically different.

In the end, I don't think it really matters when Dogen came to the island seeing as he appears to be out of the picture for the rest of the time. (Though if the actor was right and Dogen was there for 15 years from 2007, that'd put it around the Purge wouldn't it?)

Amazing episode.

My favorite of the season.

Sayid killing the douche and Dogan was badass.

The story seems like it is finally closing. I know that it was closing and all with this being the final season but this gave a strong feeling that the end is near and the sides of the war have been set.

Flocke for sure knows about the alt. timeline.

I'm hoping we get to see more of MIB (out of Locke's body) as the season progresses. I just want to see that actor portray him more.

So who do we have:

MIB: Claire, Sayid, Sawyer, "Others"

Jacob: Jack, Hurley, Miles, Jin/Sun, Ben, Lllana, Pilot

Fence: Kate?

On the way: Desmond, Widmore

The thing no one has talked about yet was dogan told sayid to stab him before he spoke to him or it wouldn't work. Well flocke def. Says hello sayid before he stabbed him.....sayid goes back and talks to dogan and dogan says u let him talk didn't you?

I agree completely and thought the same thing. So maybe Flocke is mortal. But at the time, it was still a suicide mission for Sayid. I mean FLocke knows the rules; no way Sayid gets to him without him saying 'Hello'

the main thing that i learned from tonight's show is that jacob and mib are both just manipulating people for the purpose of winning their game. i wouldn't be surprised if MIB is just using the "i wanna go home" card to get people to follow him

We will find out next episode but my guess is Jin is guarding/courting Jin back at Claire's.

Jacob already told Hurley that it was too late to get back to the Temple. It isn't the first time they had to sleep on the ground. They probably slept in the Lighthouse.

Yep, it wasn't a matter of Sayid "letting" Flocke talk to him first; he simply did not have time to make a move. I mean how much time does it take to say Hello?

The whole "Jacob promised my son's life" seems fishy to me. Everything we have seen from Jacob he has never bargained or promised anyone anything... EVER. He has always asked for help without giving a reason or promising anything back.

There is literally a dark and light difference between MIB and Jacob. MIB in the form of the Smoke Monster is killing people left and right and manipulating people to kill Jacob and the candidates who he could not kill directly based on some rules we don't fully understand.

Meanwhile Jacob is giving his candidates choices. He brought Locke back from the dead. He apparently saved Dogen's son's life in return for recruitment. Yes, he had a hard choice but it was a choice. Jacob just stood there and let Ben kill him after telling him he had a choice.

I'm surprised at the reaction to this episode. It was probably my favorite of the season. Some great moments throughout.

Sayid officially to the darkness.....looks like the sides are shaping up. His sudden killing of Dogen and Lennon surprised me. We got a little bit of interesting back story on Dogen, finding out that Jacob visited him off Island like he did with the candidates.

MIB's attack on the temple was a pretty awesome scene. Looks like he took out all the temple Others who didn't leave. I'm glad to see that they are starting to bringing all the characters together with the Illana, Lepidus, Ben, Sun group showing up at the end. The best LOST episodes to me are the ones when all the characters are involved.

The look Ben gave Sayid at the end while he slowly backed away was classic. It'll be interesting to see what happens with Kate with her being with the MIB's clique.

Thus far, it looks like the sides are shaping up as:

Jacob:
Jacob's ghost
Richard
Jack
Hurley
Ben
Lepidus
Ilana
Miles
Sun

MIB:
MIB/Fake Locke/Smoke Monster
Claire
Sayid
Sawyer
Others who left the Temple after Sayid's warning

Kate and Jin - both w/ MIB's group but probably w/ Jacob.
