Hopefully now that they've re-introduced Ben into an episode we'll get a ton more Michael Emerson.
This is my #1 hope.
Also, I am now officially referring to old asian guy as Dokken.

The conversation between MIB and Sayid seemed to be almost identical to the one where i believe it was Ben and Locke in season 3 about the "Magic Box" and you could imagine anything in the world and it would appear in the box (in Locke's case at the time it was his father).
I thought the same thing last night. The whole "what if I told you you could open the door, and whatever in the world you wanted would be on the other side.." conversation.

4)i think the "man who brought death to so many..." line is actually about sayid. showing you ben is a misdirect especially since next week is ben centric
This is what I thought too. No way they kill Ben off this early...he's barely been on this season.

anyone have a total running time for this episode? my frustration w/ this ep. was more from the insane amount of commercials last night. I'd guess it was less than or right at 40 min.
I noticed last night that at one point, there was actually like 4 and a half minutes of show between commercial breaks. I even rewinded to make sure I wasn't imagining it.

How did Ilana know "secret" passage to get out?

I'm guessing Jacob told her.

Good question but I think this has sort of been discussed before. Apparently Ilana had received quite a bit of inside information from Jacob leading up to Jacob's death. If you recall, Ilana and her team were bringing Locke's body as proof that Flocke was an impostor inside a duplicate of Locke's body. Regarding the Temple, Jacob told Hurley that someone bad (Flocke) would be coming to the Temple so Jacob was well aware of the impending attack. Apparently he briefed Ilana about the secret passage to help some of the survivors escape.

Don't worry. Since Dogen was drowned in the dark water of life he might well come back as Dark Dogen.

This is like the third or fourth time Kate has seen the smoke up close. This isn't exactly a new thing for her. And her facial expression wasn't fear, it was shock.
i think she would still be scared. plus she just realized claire was involved with whomever is smokie.

She already that Claire was screwed up. She was dragged away from Claire before the smoke attacked the temple.
how so?
fwiw, i am on pg 13 so if this has been answered then forgive me.

Question: who makes the better Ben character?
1) In charge, in control, cocky, and invincible Ben
OR
2) Humbled, everybody's-bitch Ben
The fact he plays both well speaks so much about his acting. I think he is a little funnier when he doesn't have control

Easily, although vulnerable Ben can be good too.

I read about the first 12 pages of this thread before I got fed up with you idiots....
anyway - this episode kicked 12 levels of arse, one of my favorite for sure
I didnt really answer much but it didnt open up any other real new mysteries for me. I just really like where this is heading. Plus the opening fight scene between Sayid and Dokken
was awesome
I cant wait to re-watch it again tonite sober

I agree. It was one of the better episodes.

Sawyer conning MIB would make sense, but I have a tough time believing he could pull that off. MIB is supernatural and can basically read mines. It would be like conning Satan (literally), which seems impossible.
I think that Sawyer never did commit to 'follow' MIB. When MIB approached Sawyer in the room with his proposition,to get off the island, all Sawyer said was,"Well, you better get me my pants then."

I thought the more telling commitment was Flocke asking Sawyer if he wanted to get off this island and Sawyer replied: Hell, yea.

I think Wallace is "Rose Wallace" as in Bernard and Rose Adler, and her maiden name was Wallace.
I was going over a couple episodes of the 2nd season, and thought to myself who from the tail section is still alive? Just Bernard.(Anna Lucia dead, Ecko dead, Libby dead, etc, etc) The only reason they lived was because Bernard was with them. They all die shortly after Rose/Bernard reunited.
Rose was terminally sick, but the island healed her(only special people get healed). She has a consummate "good soul", and had foresight "my husband's not dead".
We kinda know that Rose/Bernard are Adam/Eve from that easter egg in the flash room. Oh and the whole black and white thing...just to say we planned it that way from the beginning(casting).
Am I right or am I just up too late

As I said before the fans have more info on what is going on. I honestly think the writers saw how deep the fans took it and said "frick I wrote that on the can last night and now it is a major plot theme."

I think what shoots a hole in that theory is that Jacob said that they were helping 108 (Wallace) come to the island. Rose is already there so he couldn't have been talking about her. (Unless the bomb flash sent her & Bernard elsewhere - I don't recall if we've seen them since the bomb flash)
