Was the amount of time that had passed on the island equal to the amount of time that had passed in the real world when Locke arrived in Tunisia?

IMO, no. Or there is a large amount of time that has not been accounted for in Locke's story line because by the time the O6 got back a to the main land, a few days had passed of them floating and traveling.

From a time line on Lostpedia:

quote:

Friday, 14 January (Day 115) "The Life and Death of Jeremy Bentham" * A newspaper, The London Daily Tribune, prints that the "OCEANIC SIX RECEIVE HEROES WELCOME." Years later, the newspaper will be given to John Locke by Charles Widmore while Locke is recuperating in Tunisia after his return to the mainland from the island.

Probably right.

So in the Namaste episode will Ben arrive to the island as a child?

This brings up a question about the 1954 theory. How can the 316 group be in 1954? Ceasar was in the hydra dharma station and dharma was started in 1970 according to the swan orientation video.

I brought up that 1954 theory, and it was based simply off the year of the TIME issue that Cesar found in the Hydra Station last episode. The magazine looked relatively new.

Hmmm...maybe the magazine is from a dharma time traveler who placed it on that desk.

i've said from the beginning there is no chance that the 316ers are in 1954. they are in present island time

But they would only have been in that particular time period for as long as Locke had been gone from the island, right?

Exactly. And we know Locke told Widmore that it had only been like 4 days(real time) since he saw him with Richard back in the 50s. So, the only question is how long between Locke getting off the island to him dying? No way it was 3 years imho.

but the timeline of the 316 flight is 3 years past that of jack leaving the island so somehow when they flash they return to the past + 3 years

I honestly took it as Kate being three years gone.

how does Jin wind up in a dharma suit with a nice van and gun after only a couple of days?? that detail along makes me think jin and the losties have been with dharma for a good bit of time

I thought that was pretty clear. I'm certainly not saying Sawyer and them haven't been w/o the O6 for 3+ years. But to me, there's been nothing to make me believe that they have.

Because Locke turned the wheel and left the island. It was instantaneous for him. He jumped the string. Everyone else was following the string for three years in one time or another.

That's already been shown in an episode

Now that sounds logical (using Lost logic, of course).

These are my thoughts:

The 316ers are in present time on the island
The O6, however, is back into 1970's to reunite them with the Losties left behind

Jin, Sawyer, Juliet and Co. are all joined up with DHARMA as means to keep safe and lay low.

Then that would mean she is dead since all women who try to give birth on the island die. That was the reason Juliette was brought to the island in the first place by Ben. Unless this only started happening after the purge.
