how is it that MIB lost his own human form (the one that was talking to Jacob on the beach)
What makes you think that was his own human form and not just some other person who had died?

Speaking of dead people, we know that MIB showed up as Locke, and many believe he has shown up as Christian.
Does that perhaps mean that he can only turn up in the bodily form of people who died off the island?
Also, since Eloise is the one who convinced Jack to take back Locke's body, could she be working for MIB?

I believe he turned up as Yemi (Eko's brother) who died when his plane crashed on the island.

Yemi was shot when he was getting on the plane. Most likely died before he crashed there.

If Eloise truly left the island because she had the "darkness" then it would make sense.
I think it was more so that she needed to recreate the 815 situation.

I thought it was a good episode. The parallel timelines is interesting and works for me. Sayid's resurrection is intriguing but not sure how the Temple Others determined that he is "infected" with the dark-side other than the water in the healing spring being dark instead of clear.
They mentioned that "Jack's sister" had been infected also; I can only assume they meant his half-sister Claire. Then sure enough Claire shows up in the old timeline at the end of the episode. Looks like Claire might have taken on a Rousseau-like role setting traps and such.
Thought Sawyer and Kate did some pretty good acting related to Juliet's death especially when Sawyer tells Kate that he planned to ask Juliet to marry him and tossed the engagement ring into the lake. Note: Jack obviously still loves Kate and Kate still loves Sawyer.
The scenes with Kate and Claire were good also. Surprised to see that Ethan was Claire's doctor in the new timeline. The ongoing links in this show are mind boggling and one of the main attractions of LOST for me.
Looking forward to next week as usual.

A ton of theories were flying around last week about whether the ash around the cabin was to keep something in or something out.
That was answered on the "pop up video" version of last week's show, when they said that the ash was to keep smokie out.
it's going to be funny when we find out that there are 2 smokies - Jacob & MIB, we all just assumed there was one

I forgot: did Jack know that Claire was his sister? Did she know?

I think it goes back to the faith vs. destiny motif. They want the characters to make their own choices based on faith/free will & don't want to persuade them in any way, which to me signifies that they are the "good guys" since that was Jacob's stance.
that is blind faith.

Jack knows. Don't know if Clair does though. Christian/MIB may have told her though.

I don't think so which is why this was a major revelation to Jack (note expression on Jack's face when he was told). The leader of the Temple Others tells Jack at the end of this episode so it makes sense that Jack with ask: sister? Claire was also revealed back on the island in a seemingly Rousseau-like state at the end of the episode. Jack might discover that Claire is his half-sister in the next episode.

Jack knows: LINK
The major revelation is she is alive on the Island and she is apparently completely crazy and sick.

Ben's daughter was shot on the island. MIB used her body to convinve Ben to kill Jacob.

Thanks for the link. I was thinking it might have been revealed but could not remember that scene which is surprising because it was very dramatic and well done.

Good call. I forgot about that.
I can't wait to go back and watch the entire series when it's all over.

I was thinking when it was first revealed that the 2 were related that when they found out that it could only be as corny as hell, but I am very happy I was wrong.
