Nicolas Cage FTW

Asides from Leaving Las Vegas, (which he didn't deserve the Oscar for IMO) he is not very good. It is a good thing Uncle Francis was there to get him into the big time.

Sean Connery takes this one home.

Perhaps Matt Dillon

I find Bale overrated in the sense that yes, he chooses great roles and is probably the single most dedicated actor alive in terms of physical commitment to his craft, but the guy doesn't have a very wide range when displaying emotions. He has a plastic face, to steal a line from SFP

I know I'll catch heat on this one, but Leonardo DiCaprio (seems to be playing the same character over and over - i.e., a pissed off Jack Dawson).

I know some of you drool over this guy, but I can't ever get passed the fact that I'm watching Leonardo playing a character. Not sure why, just can't. Same with Tom Cruise.

Leo is the best in the world.

Tom Cruise and Denzel, I can see this argument.

Are you trying to get the BANHAMMER? Comparing DiCaprio to Cruise? Excommunication be up on your head. I also ra'd again.

Even if you aren't a fan of DiCaprio, Cruise still shouldn't be anywhere near him on anyone's list of actors.

I also disagree with Natalie Portman. Although the Star Wars movies did hurt her a bit, she has been in some good movies:

The Darjeeling Limited
V for Vendetta
Garden State
Mars Attacks! (just kidding about this one, but I just remembered she was in it)
Heat

Listing Natalie Portman as overrated is ridiculous. But this is the second time I've seen her mentioned (not in this context) and a list of her movies and "Closer" was not included. Have you not seen it? Probably one of her best roles.

She was terrible in Star Wars but so was everyone because the dialogue was terrible and the movies were terrible. Not her fault - can't imagine very many if any actors turning down the opportunity to be in slam dunk blockbusters.

Harrison Ford. Some good early movies and decent acting but 90s forward he was the same guy in every film.

No I haven't seen it. I'll try to pick it up as soon as possible and check it out.

I find Nicolas Cage's over-the-top performances to be greatness!

Really don't get the hate on this board. But hey, to each his own.

Yes. I completely agree with this. Outside of his very early roles, he has been stale and doing the same thing over and over. His resume in the 90's made this painfully apparent.

Portman and Bale are good actors. Scarlett not so much.
