couldn’t be happier with the way Episode 7 ended for Darlene. I’ve been wanting to see that since the first season.

I was just hoping that Ruth would double-tap Wendy as well. Wendy and Darlene are the worst characters on the show. Jonah, Marty, and Ruth are the best.

As others have said, it was a little bit of a slow build toward the last couple episodes which were fantastic.

Spoilers:

I'm glad they killed Darlene and Wyatt but only because I was done with that storyline early this season. We get it, Jonah can launder money just as good as Marty.

Do we think Mel has a bigger role in this going forward? I just want to know who is going to give him a signature.

One of these aren't like the others.

Jonah is a little bitch that thinks he knows everything and won't listen to the experts (in this case his parents).

I was so hoping that Javi would cap his arse when he dealt with Darlene.

Decent season but man there was a lot of dumb things happening.

Spoilers

- Wendy bringing up Ben for a private deal? I can work with that. Bringing him up as missing drug addict to the media during a speech? Seriously? Also reporting him as missing God knows how long after the fact

- Javi just seems like a psycho. Not seeing the calculated/smart part. He's basically the Spanish Darlene. Had a great Helen line though "I miss her. She was sexy. Like a big scary teacher"

- Most realistic thing about the show is how big of a shitshow the FBI is.

- That bomb truck was the most obvious bomb truck in the history of bomb trucks.

- Be Frank Jr. You just learned that the woman who shot your dick off has now killed your dad. You want blood, but hey a 30 sec convo about her getting married is enough to make you change your mind for a bit

Can someone please get my guy a signature?

I think he'll learn the truth about everything and end up getting himself killed in the process.

Kept waiting for something to happen and it will eventually, but I just found every scene he was in to be annoying.

Marty does nothing to stop the growing degeneracy of his kids, and does nothing to stop Jonah from laundering money for people who've tried to kill them.

Marty is super proud of Jonah. Jonah is exactly like his father, and Marty recognizes this. Rather than try to discipline himself out of his child, he chooses to embrace him and just make sure he goes about doing things the right way. He also takes Jonah's side most of the time because Jonah is more often than not the victim of the ridiculously stupid things Wendy does, which she always takes out on Jonah. Jonah takes after Marty while Charlotte takes after Wendy.

I think Marty has a lot more fatherly pride for Ruth than for Charlotte. He respects Ruth because she's clever, competent, and reliable. She may be vindictive, have a temper, and possess a foul mouth, but she consistently proves herself as coachable, capable, and a loyal lieutenant.

Finally, Marty isn't the type to burn bridges. He knew that by having his son working for the "enemy" that he would be able to use him and Ruth if he were ever in a jam, and he was right.

Yeah but it kinda feels like there’s more to it. He’s gotta be more important than just an uber determined PI on a divorce matter.

So did Ozark just steal the Lalo Salamanca nephew character idea for Season 4 from Better Call Saul (Season 4) and rename him Javi and give him a slight different twist?

The writing is so lazy on this show but I feel so invested that I will finish out the final seven episodes whenever released.

Spoiler…

Will we see Ruth and Jonah share a few beers and Ruth make a man out of him?

I sense some energy between them.

Well he's 14 or 15 in the show so that would be a little weird.

Why don't you have a seat over here, UncleLester

so marty sat jonah down, taught him code and high level accounting principles and created V2.0 of himself in a 14yr old? when did he have time for that?

I binged this over the weekend, didn't realize it was "Part 1" of the final season so I was piiiiiiiiissed at what I thought was the series finale.

Darlene and Wyatt both getting executed It was long due for Darlene. Just as I was wondering what Javi was going to do about Wyatt, Javi answered that question.

Are you blind, deaf, and dumb? He's been teaching Jonah a little at a time since mid season 1? Jonah has been Marty's little helper ever since Marty stopped hiding the criminal activity from the kids.

I love Jason Bateman and he's the reason I even started the show but after 4 seasons he seems a little robotic, I kept wanting more out of him with this character than just reciting his lines with his standard sarcasm.

That’s the whole point of the character. He’s always been robotic and rational, even to a fault. I was kind of nervous after the first two seasons that they’d make him turn emotional given the turmoil they continue to go through.

If he’s going to consistently be the smartest person in the room, he can’t be overly emotional.

I didn’t mind this. Bringing him up got her the sympathy she needed once and then she stretched it further. Stupid move, but seems consistent with the character.

My issue with Javi is that, to my knowledge, there was no mention of him until this season. This guy is apparently big enough to go rogue on the cartel and then potentially take over (even if he never really was), and we’re to believe he was just hanging out in Chicago and getting a business degree and then one day he decided he was big enough to frick with the cartel’s operation and the cartel is just cool with it?

The show spent three plus seasons building up Omar as the final villain they’d need to outsmart and then he just goes away more or less? Hopefully they do more with Javi because he feels just like Del from season 1.
