They sure are. Instead of one film, Kennedy is giving Johnson a whole trilogy to get you worked up.

I haven't seen it, so I can't comment on the quality of the film yet but these BO numbers are very bad. This things looking like it'll be a struggle to get over 500 mil WW. That's a horrible number. The budget for this film could be as high as 250 mil.

You should design calendars. I think people would be pretty pissed about your idea of a Memorial Day weekend, but frick them if they can't take a joke.

Also, who knows how high the amount spent on marketing is.
It could be another $50-100 million.
Then you have toy production and other merchandising that likely will continue to sell poorly.

I enjoyed Solo but the AMC Dolby theater I watched it in was no packed at all, and that was on Friday and school is out.

That trilogy is never going to happen. Kennedy may think it will, but shareholders don’t give a frick about the political message if it is cutting into their profits.

In the other thread, I Judy figured out the movie that can help get them back on track:
A Luke prequel where we get to watch him help with the harvest buy his T16 and bullseye and then measure womprats and go to Toshi Station to pick up some power converters.
Those three lines of dialogue necessitate a trilogy for sure.
Can't wait to find out that Yoda incubated the womprats from his own semen then bred them on Tatooine waiting for Luke to start shooting them. Such a cool call back dude!
He'll also see a picture of anakin and a pregnant Padme hanging on a wall in Toshi Station!
And the power converters he buys at Toshi Station are from the Bespin mining colony lol!

Kennedy has already made Disney billions and she is one of the top earners in the industry. Disney has already shown that they'll write this off and explain it away, whether we agree with it or not. They've already done it, and they're still doing it. Blaming anything they can but themselves. She's much more likely to be fired over the frick ups in production than the "underwhelming" numbers, and that didn't happen. Unfortunately (or maybe not), Johnson is likely keeping his trilogy.
