Too bad Waylon Jennings is dead. He would be the perfect voice for this show.

This show is terrible. First and foremost, they are making fun of coonasses/cajuns (if you don't see it you are blind).
If you think so then you are too thinned skinned, sure there was an exaggeration on stereotypes but who really cares

Secondly, glamorizing (probably wrong word choice) the killing of alligators--oh wait, excuse me: "harvesting" of alligators--is a shitty idea for a TV show.

But the killing of Snow Crabs on Deadliest Catch is ok??? Whats the difference

Watched it and thought it was good. I gator hunted for about 12 years straight with about 40-60 tags a year and they definitely made it a little more dramatic than it needs to be.

Some monster gators though. A 12'2 and a 12'10 are some monsters. They don't get much bigger than that.

And it didn't seem that bad with the stereotypes. That's what those people do that are located in those areas. It's their life.

Having just watched all of this, and I didn't read all 12 pages...........you can say what you want and you can make fun........but it takes all kinds of people to make the world go 'round.

Long ago, I used to know some of these trapper-types (not so much anymore though). I am squarely on the consumer side of things now, having paid big money for a pair of Luchesse alligator boots a few years ago. I guess I could live in New York now

But I still appreciate the people living off the the land and the water. It is a lifestyle so very simple, although rough, alot of the time.

Nothing to rebut.

My opinion is that it's a shitty show that ultimately exploits/takes advantage of the people involved.

I also don't care for a show based on killing 100 year old animals. Hell, "Big Head" has probably been around since the Spanish American War, but meets an ignominious end at the hands of a coonass with a .22 rifle and a piece of chicken.

I've got nothing against the people on the show. They seem like good people with awesome families.

So, do you think alligator hunting should be outlawed?

I don't know man, seems like a cool show to me. And Troy already said they had to catch "big head" before it ate one of the little children.

I wouldn't go that far. Just because you don't like something doesn't necessarily mean it should be outlawed.

I meant, um, the Spanish Civil War...Anybody knows that gators don't live as long as crocodiles.
