I binged all 3 episodes last night. The main difference between this doc and the others is that they interviewed his wife, daughter, and step-son in this one.

The wife is delusional. Her attorney said she may have some sort of stockholm syndrome. That's putting it nicely. She seems cold and naive, but she's from Iceland so some of that may be cultural.

I believe the step-son is developmentally disabled.

His daughter is who I feel the worst for. She is really struggling throughout the 3 episodes and you can see her start to realize that her dad is a serial killer. But she's in a house and familial bubble with a disabled brother and delusional mother....I hope she's able to get out on her own, get some therapy, and start over.

*ETA: I know Stockholm is in Sweden, not Iceland.

I just watched the Netflix one, also 3 episodes long.

Is this one better and worth the watch?

Not sure if it's better, but it's different mainly because they interview his family and best friend. And the interviews are in their house. They show the basement and everything. Some of it's repetitive, but overall I think it's worth the watch.

ETA: This one creeped me out more than the other doc. Not sure if it was all the closeups they did of his mug shot or the details from his family about all the vacations they went on when he stayed home because "he had to work." And then of course, all the murders line up with times his family was out of town. Then when they were in the basement and you see the door and the size of the space.....very real and creepy.
