I'd have to say Timothy Olyphant strikes the proper balance between critical acclaim and financial success with Justified.

Why is he the most acclaimed?
Because he was in Looper and TWBB? He was also in shite Knight and Day.
Olyphant and Justified had great critical acclaim.

I entertained myself countless times with Elisha Cuthbert. What a lovely, delicious looking person she is. Or was. Haven't seen anything of her in about 8 years.

Depends really. There Will Be Blood, Little Miss Sunshine, and now Looper have all met with critical acclaim and commercial success. None of them truly starred Dano. Hirsch has been in Into the Wild, Alpha Dog, Milk, Killer Joe, and Savages. Not all of those have been successful, but he was the lead in most of those and he's received good reviews for those movies, despite the movies themselves not really being that great.
Olyphant is content with TV, which he should be because between Deadwood and Justified he's starred in two of the best shows in TV history.
Cuthbert has learned that TV isn't so bad either, finding herself in a very successful (and rightfully so - it's fricking hilarious) sitcom.
