I know this is premature, but I can't wait for the Battle of the Five Armies in the second film! Could possibly be as good as the Battle of Pelennor Fields, or even better!
Finally get to see some dwarves kick some arse! Hail King Dain Ironfoot!!!

The trolls under the bridge when they are first leaving the shire is one of my favorite parts. Maybe they could get Mickey Rourke to put on a few pounds.

This movie is gonna break records like no one has seen before. Just look at the hype its already getting and it's still a year and a half from happening. It's on the front of yahoo.com for crying out loud

I just hope they will take extra caution when adding Legolas in the film. I kinda figure where they will show his character, but hope they don't have him doing something too outrageous that's steers away from the book.
Given the movie will be broken down into two 3 hour films, I sure hope they cover as much as the book as possible...especially Beorn!

How do y'all see Martin Freeman doing as Bilbo?
Extremely confident that he'll play the part perfect.
My $0.02
his work in The Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy was about what I expect to see, should be very entertaining.

These three brothers, all sons of the same mother, could not be more different from each other.
Dori, the oldest, spends much of his time watching out for Ori, the youngest; making sure he’s not caught a chill or got himself killed by Wargs or Goblins.
Nobody quite knows what Nori gets up to most of the time, except that it’s guaranteed to be dodgy and quite probably, illegal.
Dori, Nori and Ori are intensely loyal to each other – and whilst they are perfectly happy fighting amongst themselves, woe-betide anyone who means harm to one of these brothers.

Very impressive.
When you zoom out, their size is more apparent.

I need to re-read the Hobbit. I predict this film will make 1 billion worldwide easily.
As for this comment:
I lol'd. My wife is the biggest Star Wars fan that I know (or anyone on this board knows).
