At the time letting the Soviets take Berlin made sense. Think about the hell Hitler had unleashed on the Soviet Union.
The U.S. and GB couldn't claim revenge rights. We had nothing and GB only had the blitz which is child's play compared to Germany's invasion of Russia.

It was decided at the Yalta Conference which countries would control which zones and how Berlin would be divided. Eisenhower and Bradley determined it would cost 100,000 casualties to take Berlin. They decided it was not worth it and the Russians were already on Berlin's doorstep. It ended up costing the Russians 100,000 casualties.
