The show is entertainment. The 50 cal at the Jeep was bad but they had to swerve to miss zombies so it's believable. Its better than those touchy feely episodes before the character got killed. At least there is action.

Now this is exactly what I was talking about when I mentioned jaded viewers. You have to have suspension of disbelief to enjoy this show or just about any work of fiction. I guess you should only watch documentaries.

This is such a lazy argument. Should no one complain if an alien craft lands in the middle of the episode or the walkers all of a sudden get fast a la World War Z because "you have to have suspension of belief"?

Like others have said this was a better episode than the last few. Interested to see what goes down with Negan and Gabriel (although him disarming someone with an AR in an enclosed room seems ridiculous). And again like others said my only REAL gripe this episode was the ridiculous lack of damage from shooting a .50cal browning at an unarmored vehicle.

Carol's 5 on 1 firefight was pretty damn stupid especially when it began by her sneaking up on 5 guys loading heavy equipment into a truck, not using the element of surprise, waiting until they were done, then looking back out and only counting 3 and just going full LEEEEEEEEEEERRRRROOOOOOOOOOOY JEEEEENNNNNNNNNNNNKIIIIIIIINSSSSS and running out there.

The show would be a bummer if the main characters all got wasted in one episode. What do you want? For Rick and crew to die? Not many shows kill of their popular leads for the sake of realism.

And really now Rick’s crew is the most evil group on the show.

Eh, not really. Rick and crew are set to rebuild the world similar to what it was like. Characters like Negan (and The Governor) aren't interested in that and will do all it takes to stop that from happening. In order for peace, there must be war.

I think it will stick to it, or use it as a loose guideline. No sense not to since the story does pick back up again.

This main issue I am having with this season is the gun fights. They're so over the top with the endless shooting. Plus when they zoom out to show the gunfight it seems like they are right next to each other. It reminds me of a Naked Gun scene.

The gun fight with Carol would have been better if they would have just fired in tight burst

I grew up watching the A-Team and that is what this reminds me of.

It feels like they are taking the easy way out with the gun fights. You can just have the actors stay put and add the special effects later.

The bullet hole effects were really good on this episode. The opening scene carnage was actually impressive and slightly disturbing. Overall a good episode, but it is taking on a Michael Bay kind of feel when following Rick and Daryl.

I wondered the same thing. He didn't seem to be worried about the giant 50-cal machine gun that was still in that window.

I had a lot of issues with this episode, but mainly just because I don't give a frick about Ezekial and hate his character and an episode mostly focused on him isn't up my alley at all. Also was glad to see Shiva go, if for nothing else than to not have that crap onscreen anymore. I know some have defended the CGI in this thread, but it's distractingly bad for me.

Lot of things didn't make sense to me in this episode, like at all. But I won't get into them because some of the "complainers about the complainers" would likely get their feelings hurt. So I'll just say this was a meh episode* and move on.

* (though I would've liked it okay if it weren't Ezekial-centric and was focused on someone I actually cared about or liked)

I just can't take any more of these "Braveheart" type speeches to fire up the troops. "THE WORLD IS OURS!!"; "AND STILL I SMILE"; jeez, give me a break. It's soooooooo overdone

It's one reason I can't stand Zeke. Not only is it overdone and overused, but you don't buy into it or believe him at all. And the whole "We will not lose one person" thing he was harping on was just as stupid, if not moreso.

And I hate that they have basically neutered Carol now that she's been paired up with him. Last night she finally got a little time to shine, and she flat out didn't, outside of that one part where she shot the five dudes with the gun.

Probably no longer than a few minutes based on the time it took the corpses to reanimate.

All for legit discussion of the episode. Just getting tired of seeing the same repeated gripes about the dialogue being boring, the characters shooting too many guns, and of course the tiger CGI, which is a nitpick for a cable TV show.

Actually, here is a fun article on the tiger CGI

The Walking Dead’s CGI tiger is actually a stuntman in a skintight mocap suit

I think it's vital for the next part of Ezekial's story. He's a confident, cocky man playing in a fantasy world in his head where people regard him as royalty. He has no doubt bought into his own allusion of grandeur and considered himself untouchable.

Not only did he just lead all his people to death, he has now lost the one thing he truly loves, which was Shiva.

So while the Braveheart speech is corny and over-the-top, it was a great way to set someone up for a massive fall.

I wonder how much longer Carol can really go on for without getting so over her head. Was different when she was fighting people who didn't expect her to be what she is, or unorganized attackers like the Wolves, but last night she would have been blasted quickly with a 1 on 5 machine gun attack.

My only gripe is that Shiva should have been killed a different way. Having a full grown, enraged Tiger ripped apart by like 6 walkers was silly. 6 regular men would get ripped to shreds against a tiger of that size.

She should have been stuck in the mud and incapable of moving, or shot with a gun a few times and weakened to where she couldn't fight back.

It happened the same way in the comics. She got surrounded and was ripped to pieces, and in black and white it seemed to make more sense. Seeing it play out in TV, it really didn't.

But I was glad to see Shiva go. Thought it was a truly shark-jumping moment when she was introduced into the comic.
