I was told I wouldn't like Season 2, but I really enjoyed it. It had a lot of meat to it.

Spoilers

We are watching the final episode tonight. Omar just got shot. I actually yelled Oh F No! and was pissed off for the rest of the night.

The ending to season 4 was the most moving IMO

Bodies "rigged" speech is the series high point, but I love that rooftop scene. Amost as much as Bunk's "too much weight" moment about Bubbles. Throw it back.

Bubs, man. Bubs.

Just stepping in to say I'm a huge fan of season 2. It's just on another level IMO.

I have 2 episodes left in season 3. This is random...but has anyone else noticed that Most if not all the characters seem to say "too" in a weird way? Anyway, 2nd season was slow for me. 3rd season is blowing my mind and I'm sure more is to come in the final two episodes of the season.

They tried to mimic the Baltimore dialect accurately in the series

My wife can't understand me when I use "on" in a sentence. I don't have a thick Bawlmer accent, but I still have one. Also, I add r's to words that don't have them.

That is my ranking at the moment. At one time, it was 2 and then all of the others. 5 might pass 2 the next time I watch the series. As much as I enjoyed Gus and the newspaper angle - it was the serial killer script that kills the season for me overall. Pretty much from day one we knew McNulty was going to be his own downfall, but the serial killer thing - was plain silly to me.

That's my opinion. Randy's fate was like a punch to the gut. Duquan's was just depressing.

Just finished the show last night. I think season 4 was my favorite so far. I need to rewatch them all the way through and get a better feel, but damn. That was one hell of a show.

On a completely random-arse note, the way that Waylon (Bubs' sponsor) talked annoyed the ever living hell outta me.

3 is gold. It definitely showed the reality of losing your pedestal

I've always assumed, along with others, that season 3 is an allegory for 9/11 and the Iraq war

*Spoilers*

I think season 2 gets better with each viewing. Love the sobotka family angle and the helpless feeling you get when the greeks get that phone call right before frank walks up.

As far as season rankings... I would go 3,4,1,2,5. Although I believe seasons 3 and 4 are interchangeable and the most amazing things to ever appear on TV.

Bodies scene with Mcnulty in that courtyard and when Omar and Brother Mouzone meet in the alley are probably my favorite scenes.

Think my favorite quote from the whole series is Bubbles comment "Thin line tween heaven and here"
