I was pretty impressed. It is very weird to watch him not act like Jack Bauer. This show looks way better than Alcatraz. However, I hope they do not just do a new scenario for each episode similar to Alcatraz. They need to keep an arc for the entire season.

It was shitty when it was a movie called Knowing.

I'd say its more like Crash with a touch of Knowing mixed in

There were a lot of subtle 24 references for those of you who have seen 24. Terrorists, racing against a clock, use of cell phones, even a "Dammit".

That and if he has to repeat himself he will not hesitate to yell.

It actually is Jack Bauer... his job as a baggage handler is just cover. It will come full circle when the message is a warning for the impending assassination of the president...

I thought he would have handled the retired fireman a bit better though...

The woman with the phone company was actually running intel for CTU. Now that they stopped that bomb from going off Jack will track down those terrorists, only to find out that they are a front for another group. Later we will find out that group is also a front for another front. Eventually the season will end and everyone will be dead except Jack.

I enjoyed it although I'm not sure how well it will stand up as a series. My thoughts are it's a little Quantum Leapish, instead of jumping into strangers bodies throughout time, he goes as himself where ever he thinks his son is leading him.

And of course he also won't be jumping to any time within his lifetime and will only being going places within his normal timeline under the pressure of a ticking clock.

I didn't say it was a knock off, but landing in seemingly random situations having to figure out who you have to help and then how you have to help them is similar. And at least in the pilot episode he was under the pressure of a ticking clock.

Finally watched it on my DVR, and I thoroughly enjoyed the show.

Its like a cross between Person of Interest and Crash and Rainman.

SPOILER:

When he hugs his dad at the end, I freaking lost it.

pretty emotional scene. i can't imagine my son not talking or not letting me show him any affection.

looked like he used him to get the phone though

We finally watched this either Saturday or Sunday. I thought the pilot was pretty good. But why would they show it now, and not show another one for 2 months? Just seems like a lot of advertising and build up for that.

And I didn't get emotional when he hugged him. But that scene where the Dad who had lost his daughter was on the phone and all of a sudden his old cell phone pics of her started popping up on all the screens, I sort of lost it. I guess having a young daughter has something to do with it.
