Holy balls, I have a feeling this next episode only makes things worse.

The way that Rust makes people confess, all the Santeria imagery, the flames in the opening always surrounded his head. Anyone think it is possible he is the Devil?

We gonna find out which theories are leaking oil and ones that hold water today.

So here is my take...
Marty and Rust reconcile and get back on the hunt for "The Yellow King". They find the cult has set up shop in a trailer park in Morgan City. All they find is a bunch of middle aged men porky pigging it (t-shirt no undies) in one trailer with Deer Antlers and The Dish on the roof. Rust notices the tv program in the background to be Game of Thrones. With the superior intellect that he has, the puzzle has been solved...
Joffrey Baratheon is the Yellow King. The antlers are the sigil for House Baratheon. The trail park has never had HBO and they were so drawn into the show they actually think they live in Westeros. They learn their cruelty to women from their king, their yellow king, King Joffrey.

I like the "5 Horsemen" theory. "Spaghetti Monster" would be like a guy in a ghillie suit.
My guesses who the current Horsemen are:
Governor Tuttle
Billy Lee Tuttle - he's the beer can laying on his back bc he's dead
Shady State Trooper guy that showed up with Tuttle early in the season and in the last episode
Marty's Father in Law/Maggie's Dad
Lawnmower Man - he might have scars under his dirty beard
I also now think Maggie could be involved as well. She is a nurse so she could've cleaned the bodies to keep the trail cold.
Remember when Marty asked why girls need to learn about sex so early? Maggie's response: "Because they have to".
As far as the Yellow King goes, I suspect Maggie's dad would be my #1 suspect. He could've abused Audrey (and maybe Maggie too).

Here's my question: Since this is a "series" and currently there are 8 episodes, does this case end in Season 1, or do we get screwed and have to wait a year (or more if Larry David gets involved
) for the case to continue?
Do we find out it's been renewed for a Season 2 and this case continues, or is it solved at the end of Season 1?
I really haven't seen anywhere that it says this story ends in 2 episodes. Does it?
And, I guess we're pretty much real-time now at the end of the episode 6 with them meeting to go get a beer.

Each season will be self contained.

You got a link with that carnal knowledge? And, if it continues does it star Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson? That would put a damper on the whole Woody's a pecker theory.
All I see is that season 1 stars Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson.
With ratings like this show is receiving, you'd think it would continue in some form, they've got to be begging the writers to come up with more. But I see nowhere, yet, that this show will continue - haven't seen anywhere where it has been renewed for a second season.

It's been stated many times by the creator.

No, next season will be a new story and a new cast.

This story ends after 8 episodes. Next season begins with new Characters and new actors.
This is established. don't have any links handy.

I think this is all going to tie in to a liberal anti-fracking message and I will be sad

I have heard the same thing too , but I also listened to an interview with NP and he says he would like to use a lot of the same actors but doesn't mention which ones ....

WTF does this have to do with True Detective theory?

Maybe a few of the background players and one of the stars like American Horror Story.
