Yeah but it has been a while since kids were at that school and I got the feel like those were made more recently.

It seems like the cult drawings are pretty primitive, I'm wondering if it was children who made them. Also, the same with all of the devil catchers. With such a big stash of them at the Light the Way school, it looks like the kids could have been making them during class.
Yep, this is what I'm leaning toward. Pretty sure that's not a serial killer's lair. Remember that the Pastor (Clarke Peters) said that he thought the devil nets were something that kids made while they told stories. Well, the kids at Light The Way probably made these during crafts class.

That would give us all the youngsters enrolled in the school (indoctrinated),
Who do we know attended Light the Way so far? Rianne Olivier. Did Ledoux ever attend?

the faculty, and possibly the parents (if they knew what their kids were learning), as involved in the cult...that would make the involvement much bigger than just a few powerful folks and would suggest a larger operation.
I'm still a little shy on the cult angle, at least to the extent a cult was involved in the murders of Dora Lange and the girl from 2012. If the cult is killing women all of these years, why only put the devil nets at two crime scenes?
quote:
After the hurricane, who knows where all of the cult folks could have spread to and continued growing their operations.
We now know a decent amount about Rust's past. But what do we really know about the past of Marty and his family? Has anyone considered that Audrey and Macy attended Light the Way before it closed? Could explain Audrey's drawing and possible exposure to sexuality at such a young age.
Could also make it possible that Marty had some of Audrey's and Macy's devil traps lying around their house.
Btw some good chitchat on this page, er, last page

just saw a photo posted, the can figures that Rusty arranges looks very similar to the doll figures that Marty's daughters had surrounding the barbie.

was thinking the same thing, they both may be recreating the same scene.

Was the Light of Way a school and orphanage or what? We assume the girls are natural births. They could be adopted and maybe they came from the Tuttle Ministries school. But I think the gardener definite was a kid at the school. It had been shut down for some time, so those traps at the school aren't recent. The gardener made them and he relives his childhood inside. He has had the place all to himself and would not suspect anyone to come looking around like Rust did.

Well, as they were mostly upright and semi-neatly arranged, it would seem that they were made post-hurricane (considering the state of the rest of the building interior). So the children probably did not make them (while in class at least). It appears our gardener has been up to some craft work inside the school.

Where was Light of Way school? I can't remember all of their locations. We are assuming that Marty and Rust live in Baton Rouge? Isn't that where they are headquartered for CID?

The only thing we know about that guy was that he was cutting the grass. We really don't have a reason to believe anything else that he told Rust...

Not sure. Is it Abbeville? Remember Rianna Olivier's grandfather talking about how kids got bussed two hours away to Abbeville. I might have to watch that scene again.

I refer to their office as CID HQ, and in real life that is in BR. But I think they might be working out of a field office closer to the coast. Would explain how the files got "damaged" during Hurricane Rita.

Same building as the 2012 interviews

Some talk out there about the gardener's truck being linked to the last espisode. Supposedly it is the director's personal truck and he commented on it being used in the series. That is really not a spoiler. It is obvious that the gardener is involved and that the school is central.

Awe snap. Did we see a truck parked at the school when Rust interviewed the gardener in 1995? And I love that we call him a gardener. That fricker be fancy.

I'd think they're in a field office based out of SW La if we're to assume their office was in Rita's path. I'm still trying to figure out exactly where Rust and Marty live.
Closest LSP CID field offices IRL are in Houma, Lafayette and Lake Charles. Not sure if this show sticks to that.

It will be interesting to see what that scene actually depicts.

I always thought they were in Lafayette.

Matthew McConaughey is a fricking genius in this show. His acting is some of the best I've seen.

This show is going down as one of the GOAT.

Don't remember them saying but that would seem close enough considering Marty's USL connection
