I wonder what the boat at the end meant? The camera spent a lot of time on that scene until the boat came by.

Wasn't it a tug boat? Symbolic of the forces pushing them toward the conclusion?

boat at the end didn't mean anything. it was just a boat going by.
However, did you notice Errol took his safety glasses off with his right hand????THAT IS FREAKING HUGE REVEAL

Anyone else disappointed that the story turned from a bizarre sacrificial murder mystery into an old powerful family behind child porn, rape, and police coverup?
Still a bad arse show, just hoping for different.
And Erroll sounded too much like Forrest fricking Gump for SWLA. (Ma famlee been heya a very long time.) The show did pretty well not destroying scenes with terrible Louisiana accents and now the bad man sounds like Tom Hank's version of a retard from Alabama. WTF?

To me it looked like a little light house. Which would symbolize the light at the end of the tunnel?
shite I dunno. It aint important just another way to screw with our heads.

Does that make it any less bizarre? Look at the tape rust stole. It's creepy as hell, even more so that high profile people are in on it.

why a father would not bath his own child.
I had a theory on this: Based on the picture of the Mardi Gras stuff, it is safe to assume Dora's father was involved. I took "bathe" to mean a form of baptism into the cult, which would, in turn, protect her from her ultimate end - death at the hands of the cult. I.e., the mother was asking (woefully) why the father did not baptize his own child to protect her. Why would a father not bathing a child (I know plenty of lazy dads btw) have any pertinence whatsoever to a woman that just found out her child was dead if it had no connection to her death?
Not sure anymore, mostly cause there's not enough time to develop this arch :slowflowpro:
Also, the "five guys" theory has some traction, and Dora Lange's daddy seemed to be anything but powerful.
ETA...while her "daddy's" not powerful, maybe she is one of Tuttle's illegitimates. Would explain her involvement in the Cajun Mardi Gras rituals apparently reserved for the elite and why her momma proudly displayed the picture. Actually starting to think again I might be on to something here. Tuttle is her father - so the question is "why did Tuttle not 'bathe' his own child." Baptism I'm telling ya. Oh, and Finkle is Einhorn and Einhorn is Finkle.

I thought the "bathe" issue was just to explain how fricked up and weird her old man was. But I can see where he would be involved.

Such a whacked out line, I just think it has to mean something.

well at this point, the lawn guy- who we only saw for about thirty seconds in one episode- is apparently the key to everything. So I certainly can see your point about that line.

Finally caught up on this show. Just in time for the finale this weekend.
I have a question and figured someone would remember - seems like I read in one of the threads from one of the early episodes that Marty's daughter had drawn some of the angels that were the same as those on that old church (and maybe other places). Anyone remember that?
Because I could see the dolls maybe having an alternate reason. And the being in the truck with 2 guys could have a bunch of causes - daddy issues, etc. The painting of the flowers is more problematical but I don't know if it is established that she is the one that did that painting in their house. But if she had painted stylized angels that were the same as those on paintings done by the cult people I think that is harder to explain away.

I don't remember the angels. So far, these are the potential links between Marty's daughters and the cult that I remember offhand:
1. Mural on hospital where the girl Marty and Rust rescued was staying matches child-like drawing on Marty and Maggie's bedroom wall
2. Spiral symbol appears on plate apparently done as art project by one of the kids and hanging in Marty's house
3. the sex scene with the dolls
4. Audrey getting Eiffel towered by two bros
5. the scene with the daughters and the crown and how it gets thrown up in the tree like a devil catcher
6. Audrey's painting that she is standing in front of at her art show looks to have black stars and may depict a "yellow king"

I went back and watched the scene where MM first meets Errol outside of the school. In that scene Errol's voice and accent are 100% different. He sounds normal and not like Forrest Gump. Either it's a mess up (which I doubt) or ole Errol is changing his accent on purpose.

I don't see how you can wrap up all the loose ends in an hour. Two hour finale? Prime. I love the show. I just don't want it to end with tons of question marks.
People never learn.
