Based on the book series Scott Westerfeld.
I wasn't going to watch it, but the wife did. So I did (you married guys know). Got a little preachy. But I actually enjoyed it and want them to make the next. I might read them to see what happens.
ETA: If you are someone that sees "woke" in everything, don't bother with this movie...and probably this thread.

I read all the books back in the day, and they were solid. It seems like it wouldn’t translate well to the screen.

This seems like it would have fit in perfectly with all of the young adult fiction dystopian stuff from 10 years ago.

The trailer looked like the same teen dystopian film as the Divergent series.
