YouTube productions with over the top employee counts

I don't watch any of the highly produced YouTube shows like Watcher or Try Guys or whatever else might be out there, but i was just watching a Mr. Ballen video where mentions he has 40 full time employees. This seems insane. Obviously these guys are doing better than I so who am I to judge, but I can not fathom how a guy who tells solo stories for 25-30 minutes needs a 40 person full time staff.
Then the other productions are the same way, where they have 25-50 people working full time for often simple videos. I recall Caleb Hammer on Financial Audit having a huge staff too.
Is this just bad business and people hiring because it feels good and rewarding? Beyond one or two editors, maybe a writer or two, someone running the books, and someone running marketing how many more people can you need?

What is huge? I thought he had 3-5 people, but I haven't watched him in months.
Booking, making arrangements for guests (travel, lodging, cabs, food, etc.), production, editing, accounting, etc. takes a lot of man-hours.

Would rather pay family and friends than taxes?

In all liklihood many of the employees are probably just contracted to do certain specific work. I highly doubt guys like Mr Ballen have full time employees. Guys that film on location, etc probably do

Linus Media Group has over 100 employees with an estimated value of over $100 million.

I felt the same but he explicitly said "40 full time employees". Maybe they're full time overseas so like 25% of the cost.
