Bruce Hornsby was an icon before Keith came to LSU

But what it everyone’s favorite song by this man. Saw him at the PMAC a few times watching his son play. Wish I could have watched a game with ole Bruce. I wonder if Bruce had a little ghetto in him like his son Keith when he was younger. Still glad Keith ended up joining LSU even if it wasn’t the season we wanted.

That’s just the way it is
Bruce is super talented and cut his teeth playing bluegrass. He did an excellent job sitting in with the Grateful Dead for 2 years after Brent passed away.

I've posted this on other forums on tiger droppings.
Bruce Hornsby is the only celeb I can claim to know. We aren't great buddies or anything like that, but my son and I regularly attend the Boo Williams EYBL basketball weekends held a few times a year in Hampton, VA.
We never make plans to meet, but we always see him up there and end up watching the different games (and college HCs in attendance) with him.
He's very down to earth, and if you didn't know who he was, you'd have NO CLUE he was a Grammy award winner.
When we first met him about 10 years ago, I introduced my son to him and told Bruce he doesn't remember any of your songs, he's way too young. He said "what about the Tupac remake of the way it is?" I laughed and told him, "he doesn't remember that either, we're both ancient compared to him."
He is way past his peak fame, but I think he still tours with the greatful dead on occasion, and still has concerts in our area at least. Very nice guy, and he's about as "white bread" as you can be, almost awkward actually.

Loved him on the piano/keyboard, but frick the accordion. It ruined absolutely Friend of the Devil.
