The A side is a curious attempt to combine straight country w/the dance craze of the early '60s

The infamous Buck Owens trade paper ad of 1964, when he was accused of going too rock and too far from country:
Shortly afterward BO cut Chuck Berry's "Memphis". When called on it he calmly replied, "'Memphis' is a rockabilly song. I didn't say nothin' about rockabilly".

It's funny how time and musical evolution change perspective.
Buck created a new sound within classic country but was crushed for it because it was straying from the norm.
So I wonder if the current Bro Country will be viewed similarly 50 years from now?

This was the first successful country music TV show
Sid King & The Five Strings - "Sag, Drag & Fall" - December 3, 1955: this was probably the first rockabilly performance on national TV, about seven weeks before Elvis appeared on the Dorsey Brothers Show.

Jess Willard - "Truck Drivers Boogie" (1951)
Very early trucker song, more than a decade before "Six Days On The Road"
