What are we classifying as “Classic Country”?

I’m not much on country except the Strait era type music.

I guess my only submission would be
Who’s gonna fill their shoes George Jones 1987. Since he use multiple styles

You won't get a unanimous answer

For me it's the Honky Tonk-Bakersfield era -- very roughly from Hank Williams to Olivia Newton John and John Denver winning CMA awards. Though I'm sure I've sure I've broken that rule several times in this thread.
