I was a huge fan of theirs in their time which was the late 80s. But it's absolutely ludicrous to me that anybody would be interested this far down the line. The band that played that Live At The Ritz MTV show back then has been long gone for literally decades and will never return, no matter how much hype, no matter how much money, no matter how much people still hold the memory of 1988 under glass in their minds. I went and saw that UYI show at the PMAC and they were already done in 1992. Almost 25 years ago. There is absolutely zero chance that they could cobble together anything worth seeing at this late date. Talk about using your illusion.
Saw them in support of Appetite for Destruction. They were by far the worst band I've ever seen. Sloppy, out of tune playing, axl stumbling around screaming, and when he did try to sing it was off key. Just terrible.
Now, Axl would probably be the only one that couldn't deliver a solid performance. Maybe Adler if he's included.
Slash has made a huge improvement as a guitarist since his GnR days. The music he's making now is very good.
With Duff and Izzy sobering up they're likely better players as well. Izzy has shown in his solo works that he's a sound musician.
I still wouldn't pay 1/4 of what they're estimating ticket prices to be.

One of the baddast assest concerts of all time. The Ritz and MTV pulled off some other great ones, too.

They released the live album back in November.

Just downloaded. Thanks for that!
They are loaded out of their minds and off key and they never sounded better!
Mr. Brownstone was just awesome that night.

No problem
They didn't advertise it at all. I just happened to stumble upon it on amazon one day.
When they came out and opened with It's So Easy I remember thinking....ooooh this is gonna be good.

I'd like to see a public apology from the rest of the band to Adler.
Why? He was a notorious junkie and couldn't stay clean, even when faced with getting thrown out of, what was then, the biggest band in the world.
ETA:
yeah.... I consider them one of the greatest rock bands every, but I've accepted the fact that I was born too late to see them in their heyday. Not gonna meet my heroes when they look like that and want $300 for a show.

It's amazing to me that people still pay money to watch Axl Rose maybe show up and howl like a shot dog
Yeah, I mean the Axl Rose who will hit the stage with Slash is some fat old frick who lost his voice. Not worth price of admission unless you want to just laugh at his fat arse.

He will be back in 1988 form for these shows.

I've already stated why:
he started the band
the band screwed him on the size of his percentage
the band then attempted to steal the percentage he did get from him

AT one point, they all were. Some not as much as others, but Axl and Slash had just as much ruin at the time as Adler. Since they were all "friends", why not try to let him clean up amnd take care of him? Oh, that's right...the rest of the band was too fricked up to care. Enter Matt Sorum...the Cult's 4th drummer.

One of the band's talking points against him was his supposed poor performance at Farm Aid 1990.

When they took the stage, Adler ran up to the kit and slipped and fell. He IMMEDIATELY, popped up, got behind the kit and played just fine. However, the band's narrative was he staggered out and was barely able to get behind the kit and he played terribly. It's bullshite. Judge for yourself.

Unless Adler literally is unable to play, it's an outrage that he wouldn't be involved.
Pretty sure he is unable to play now. Too many strokes

Axl on Jimmy Kimmel Tues this Tues night..

I'll probably pass on seeing them. Axl hasn't changed at all personality wise; he's still a dick and a diva. I saw the interview a couple of years ago on That Metal Show and what a douche.

Nah. Axl was actually a big vocal supporter of Nirvana. This pissed the prima donna Cobain off because GnR was everything Nirvana was supposedly against.

GnR was dead as soon as Smells Like Teen Spirit was released.

Nah. They were dead due to their own internal disarray. The Illusions were released exactly one week before Nevermind and went on to sell 14 million copies domestically. Nevermind sold 10-11 million.
Even The Spaghetti Incident - released more than 2 years later - sold millions.
As late as 1994, the release of videos like the one for Estranged was a big event on MTV. If they could have held their internal chaos together and put out another full album in 1994 or 1995, it would have been massive as well.
