I had this little off brand mp3 player that ran on one AA battery. It could hold around 100 songs, and would play them in this completely random order, but it was the same every time. My mom had bought one for me and one for my brother for Christmas. I used that thing from 8th grade most of the way through college. I’m pretty sure one of them still works. Despite being almost 20 years old.

Before that, I had a cd walkman which also still works.

I remember bringing this with me on a field trip back in the 80's and everyone thinking I had invented fire.
