Disappointing. Not bad musicians or performers, but not what we should expect out of hard rock/metal groups.
If this is the best we- USA- can do right now, I will up you a Band-Maid, Jinjer, the Warning, and Love Bites (for real hard rock/heavy metal) off of this

The music is soulless.
This, unfortunately. I really had high hopes for this album. Can’t say that I’ll ever put it on again.

Yes.
Should have phrased it better.
Is the best we Americans can do spending money on hard rock/metal?

FWIW, I discovered Volbeat from Ghost’s recent tour and some of their songs hit hard. I like their sound.

I've been through IMPERA a couple of times (a couple of weeks apart) and it's just "meh" so far. Doesn't have what seem like standout hooks that I recall from other records, and also with less of a "snarl" for lack of a better word, that came through in various ways. Guitar tone, vocals etc seems a bit more polished up and safer.

I’m on the first listen. I’ve been worried they’d never duplicate prequelle for me. I know it’s not everyone’s favorite but I love it. On the third song. This album hits!
I just discovered this band and have run through Prequelle a couple of times and it is really good but totally different from Impera.
I need to check out the rest of their catalogue.

Wild, all I here are badass hooks when I listen to it.
