Will Zach Bryan have a normal amount of songs or will this one be 30+ again?

On my first listen.

The bass on Lucille is sick. And leave it to Evan to write a song about sobriety and elk hunting.

Through my first listen of TT songs they hadn’t released yet, I enjoy the rut, Lucille, and cat in the rain.
It’s a good album overall, but it doesn’t stand out to me like their other work. Hopefully it grows on me.

I had a bunch of releases this week:
Buck Meek
Ratboys
Hiss Golden Messnger
Turnpike
..
..
After running quickly through them all, the Zach Bryan album is the one that instantly made me say, "I'll be listening to this a lot."

I had the opppsite reaction on the ZB record. Absolutely lackluster and formulaic. He needs a producer in the worst way, another unpolished unimpressive effort aimed at 22 year old chicks in small town USA. The two collabs with Sierra Farrell & Kacey Musgraves are the highlights. I get he wants to “appear” raw but the dude is a megastar.

To each his own, but I think the album is amazing.

I’m a big fan of his, and maybe I’m colored from the amazing music this year but this one just fell flat. I thought Turnpikes album was really great and an instant classic. Morgan Wade dropped the best of the week imo. Impeccable all the way through and Sadler Vaden is a legit genius in the studio. The guitar work across each song is just freaking atmospheric.

Same. Saw them there at the start of the "comeback tour" and they killed. The entire place was singing along.

I kind of dig the second half of the TT album more. Maybe it’s because I already have heard 3 songs that fall in the first half.

I thought it was very meh to me. From his album, Summertime’s close, El Dorado, and Oklahoma Son were the only ones that stood out to me. I’m not a fan of collaborations. Is anyone else getting too inundated with Zach Bryan music these last couple years?

Agreed. He’s a phenomenon and I get it, but the social media push combined with little growth as a songwriter or producer makes it wear on me. Interesting to see where he goes from here. His fan base trends early 20s and if he has a few more duds interesting to see where his career goes.
