Trey was using his loop recorder effect toy after the 10 minute mark, giving the "whale" sound prevalent in much of '99 (and brought back in 2011) an even greater soundstage and presence. Truly one of the most captivating and moving jams ever.
...and the Gin from this show is no slouch either!

quote:Great show. I was unable to go to this one and have regretted it ever since. 1999 was a great year. It's no 1994 or 1997 but still a great year for Phish. The best show of 1999 was also the last show of 1999. I still consider Big Cypress as one of the most fun Phish festivals I have ever been to. 12/31/99 was off the charts! That Tweezer?!

my most fun show was july 4th in alpharetta in 2010 or 2011, I can't remember, not the best i've seen but that show was so much fun, everyone was pumped and had a great time, plus they played a bunch of cool songs i likely won't get to see in the same set again.

All of December 1999 is fiyo on da bayou.
12.2.99 Auburn Hills - sick Gin, 2001, one of my favorite YEMs
12.7.99 Portland,ME - best Halley's ever
12.11.99 Philadelphia - one of the best sets on paper, and pretty damn good on tape
Set 1: Harry Hood > Mike's Song > Simple > I Am Hydrogen > Weekapaug Groove, When the Circus Comes, Scent of a Mule, Cavern
Set 2: Boogie On Reggae Woman, Sneakin' Sally Through the Alley[1] -> Ghost -> Also Sprach Zarathustra > Down with Disease
Encore: Possum[2]
12.13.99 Providence - Killer version of Sand
12.16.99 Raleigh - Tweezer!!!
And of course 12.30.99 and 12.31.99. Take your pick of jams but my personal fave is probably 12.30's blissful Light Up or Leave Me Alone bustout.

They need to knock the cobwebs off this one and whip it out again

Yeah, my buddy's parents live near the venue in Alpharetta and were out of town so we had a huge mansion to rage at.
Such a fun show with a great buzz in the air. Star Spangled Banner opener, Col Forbin's, Camel Walk, a nicely groovin Jiboo, DWD>Piper>Ghost, Mike's Groove with the legendary Harpua>Killing in the Name Of>Harpua, and First Tube encore. Great times.

I was at Raleigh 7.1.10 when they busted it out for the first time since Cypress and went nuts

One of my buddies, who doesn't even like Phish, went and still rubs it in my face because I couldn't.
I mean the guy listens to DMB steadily.

So I assume most people in this thread will be hitting the end of tour/south run. I'm still trying to get out to dicks.
What other shows do yall have planned?

Great stuff. Still doesn't match up to the end of the 1997 year
11/17/97 - As previously stated, the most fun I have ever had at a single concert. Started off with a funky Tweezer, a sick Ghost and a dirty second set Jesus Just Left Chicago
11/22/97 - Halley's>Tweezer is just fantastic
12/2-12/3 - Wild Philly run
12/5/97 - Amazing Julius>Slave
12/06/97 - Tweezer>Izabella (Arguably the nastiest funk jam Phish has ever done)
12/07/97 - This 2 day run is legendary
12/11/97 - DWD>Maze, Ghost>DWD in the second set
12/30/97 - One of the best NYE run shows of all time. Also one of the msot fricked up I have ever gotten at a show. I probably needed to go to the hospital. But of course my friends pulled the "Nah man you're fine" line. But that is a story for another day. Anyways, what a great Sally to start off the show then bringing it back in the encore just to transition into Frankenstein. Pretty hilarious I'm Gonna Be cover as well.

ya end of 97 was really consistent and awesome. Personally I enjoy early 90's shite more, but that is just my preference. (I also like a lot of the gay little trey songs and shite so most people don't value my opinion)

I am doing the Denver (Dick's) shows.
