Roland Jazz Chorus Guitar Amp Questions

How do the newer JC-40 and JC-22's sound in comparison to the original JC-120?
I have a 90's JC-120 that I love, the original owner is begging me to sell it back to him. He's a good friend, not a stranger. I really love the amp, but he has sentimental attachment and instead of just buying another one, he wants THAT one. So if I sold it back, it would be at a price that I could just buy another one. But it is a big beastly combo amp. Curious about the smaller models.
Anyone here want to straighten me out on this?
