Well, that's just like, your opinion, man.

I just don't see the appeal to soloing for 2 hours.
And I'm a musician
And I'm a musician

IF only they would jam for 2 hours. These days its 6-10 minute straight forward rockers.

Yes, mutemath actually write good songs. And they are a better band musically than phish.

Well members in mutemath do have degrees in music and teach etc. if anyone has ever seen them live compared to phish, I don't know how you could say phish is a better all around band. Trey is a great guitar player but he's not exactly inovative.

You don't know what you're talking about.

Trey Anastasio and the Atlanta Symphonic Orchesta-You Enjoy Myself
Why haven't symphonic orchestras played with MuteMath if they are so "innovative and musically advanced?"
Not trying to make this into Phish vs. MuteMath as I like both bands and comparing them is simply irrelevant, but one plays "can't miss shows" at the Varsity in Baton fricking Rouge and the other routinely sells out Madison Square Garden.
Examples of Phish spanning other genres:
Reggae
Rock
Funk

Celine dion sells out all her shows too.
What's your point?
I just don't care for jam bands. Bores me to tears.

That's great. Just don't say MuteMath, who writes 3-4 minute pop songs, are better musicians than Phish, who is worldly renowned for their intricate compositions.

So of you write a longer song it's better than a song that's 3 minutes long with a hook?
Posted on 8/1/12 at 11:42 am to Souljah
no no no THIS is rock n roll
Posted on 8/1/12 at 11:43 am to CaptainPanic

If you are talking virtuosity regarding instruments, than yes.
