Billy Powell was a classically trained pianist and nobody knew it until Skynyrd came back from a break and he was playing freebird
Also, the drummer from Skynyrd use to sleep under his drum kit in the studio when they were recording albums... he also played barefoot and on LSD
During Electric Ladyland, Hendrix would party till 3am while the band laid down the tracks and then he would stumble in and play over the top of the recording, when he felt like it

Before he left, Pesci overheard Jimi playing an unreleased original blues, "Sent home to get my shinebox", thought he was mocking him, and turned it to his advantage 30 years later.

Sam and Dave didn't speak to each other off-stage for almost 13 years while being a touring music duo.

Sam & Dave were also famous for having a very tumultuous partnership during most of their 21 years together. According to Moore, they did not speak to each other offstage for almost 13 years.
During the 1970s, they broke up many times, and would typically show up separately for shows, require separate dressing rooms, not look at each other onstage, and communicate through intermediaries.[22] They also had performances in the 1970s where only one of them would show up. Moore describes personal issues with Prater, drug use, touring fatigue, and a desire to do his own act with new material as contributing to their break-up.[15]
Prater attributed their rift and break-ups to Moore's frustrations in wanting to do his own act and diversify from having to repetitively perform the Sam & Dave song catalog (which Prater has said that Moore didn't like very much).[3]

Billy Duffy, guitarist of the Cult, is a HUGE Manchester United fan.
The Cult changed from a Euro-goth band to a cock rock band because of hearing "Cookie Puss" from The Beastie Boys (produced by Rick Rueben).
U2 once opened for a band called the Comsat Angels and The Edge learned his guitar style from Kevin Bacon (not THAT Bacon). U2 went on to be a smash and the Comsat Angels were nothing much beyond their own country of England.
Corey Glover of Living Colour was once in an Army commercial.
Trent Reznor used to frequently visit Bennigan's in Metarie. He loved the Monte Cristo sandwich.
Robert Smith of The Cure has been married for 29 years and has zero children.
REO Speedwagon's lead singer Kevin Cronan once did an 8 ball of coke before his concert at the Hirsh Colosseum. He and David Lee Roth were the worst guests of the production company.
The Sound's Adrian Borland has a schizoid mental disease and jumped in front of a train in 1999 and committed suicide.
Trent Reznor was in 4 other bands besides NIN.
The Cult's famous vide for "She Sells Sanctuary" did not feature their regular drummer Nigel Preston at the time. Nigel was arrested the night before. Big Country's Mark Brzezicki filled in on the video and helped the Cult for a few weeks after the band fired the heron-addicted, trouble-making Preston. Les Warner would replace him. Brzeicki was in the same studio building and was a desperate fill in.
Believe me or not, Pisces Tiger has gotten shite-faced with Stabbing Westward members Chris Hall and Walter Flakus and all of touring members of the 1999 Econoline Crush (minus their dickhead guitarist, Dino).
Filter lead singer and former NIN guitarist Richard Patrick is the younger brother of David Patrick (The Terminator; The Sopranos; Walk the Line).
Marilyn Manson had a huge feud with the trip hop band,The Sneaker Pimps over a song they recorded together for The Spawn Soundtrack.
Layne Staley was once a glam rocker in a band called Sleze; he appears small in his later videos with AIC, but he is actually 6 feet tall.
Ministry was once a new wave, very poppy band and produced an album full of synths and pseudo British accents...7 years later, they would record Psalm 69 -- the heaviest industrial record of all time.
Dokken's band members were kicked out of a Holiday Inn in Monroe for being loud, pornographic, and vulgar. They band members and 3 roadies and one member of White Lion had reportedly 2 dozen groupies in their suite -- all naked and all sexually active in some form for about an hour. Hotel staff reported seeing naked women running out of rooms and cocaine was found on phone books, a hotel bible, and suitcases. Dokken's manager Cliff Bernstein wrote the hotel a check for reportedly 5 grand to avoid any arrests. George Lynch had apparently also set off the fire alarm and had sex in the hotel's hot tub with 3 different women. The group went to Moscow on the Monsters of Rock tour 3 months later.
Paul Barker, former bassist of Ministry, was arrested in 1996 after a show in Phoenix, for public display of intoxication and possession of heroin, LSD, marijuana, illegal Absinthe, and Ketamine.
White Zombie's first tour was with Anthrax and they were booed off of the stage every night repeatedly.
In 1975, the band ANGEL, was signed to Casablanca Records and were supposed to be the biggest hard rock band in America; but, a band by the name of KISS was also signed at the same time.
Vince Neil of Motley Crue had a fight with Japanese Yakuza members and was almost close to being killed...but he tried to fight the boss at the club they were both in that night.
Dave Mustaine is now a hardcore fundamental Christian.

Never understood this, he was a roadie for Skynyrd for a number of years and they didn't know he could play until what you posted happened, somewhere I read that he was asked about and said he didn't think he was very good and didn't want to be embarrassed.
