Every riff on The Cult - Electric.

Wildflower's riff is almost perfection.

there are so many ageless classics from tony iommi, randy rhoads, keith richards, eddie van halen, angus & malcolm young, eddie van halen, and jimmy page. all of those guys immediatly come to mind when guitar riffs are discussed. they were masters at composing memorable parts that stay with you. since most of their material is a given, i decided not to include them on this list--which could change in the next hour.

I am suprised nobody has picked Deep Purple Smoke on the Water. I know it is over played, but it has got to be one of the most recognized riffs of all time. I will also go with AC/DC Back in Black for the same reasons.

I like some of these on this list. I would switch Rapid Fire for Judas Priest and Shout at the Devil for Motley and then for Metallica you can pick any song pre-Black Album.

Here's one that more than one person has liked playing:
Deep Purple -- Black Night (1970)
The Blues Magoos -- We Ain't Got Nothing Yet (1966)
The Liverpool Five -- She's Mine (1966)
Ricky Nelson -- Summertime (1962)
That's Shreveport's James Burton on guitar
