Carlisle is a vengeful god
quote:
Rick Carlisle on his Mavs: "It's hard to put an exact finger on it. It’s just a feeling that I had that it would be mutually beneficial. My hope is that Jason Kidd will be the next coach of the Mavs because he and Luka have so many things in common as players."
Carlisle (cont.): "I just think that it would be a great situation for Luka, and I think it would be an amazing situation for Jason. I’m the only person on the planet that’s coached both of those guys and that knows about all of their special qualities as basketball players."

If Carlisle speaks Kidd to the Mavs into existence he's getting a fruit basket from me.

Like, worse than last offseason?
I don't think many people looked at the last off season as a letdown as it was actually happening. Most thought Bledsoe was a drop off from Holiday, but not many foresaw that he would drop off a cliff like he did. Likewise, many were excited about Adams (although a few did see the fit problems and many scratched their heads at the extension). In truth, the beginning of last year could have been much worse if we didn't have Adams until Hayes' light came on. Not many saw JJ about to plummet either.
Who knows, maybe we will think this offseason is a letdown and it will turn out good.

Carlisle not waiting to see if the Bucks job opens up is interesting. Hopefully the Bucks have told people they are keeping Bud and that all but opens up Charles Lee for the Pels

Doesn’t change our plans. I highly doubt we fired one old school coach to hire another of the same mold.

Bucks could also be signaling they'd pull a 2008 Heat or 2018 Raptors and plan to promote the assistant. Of course the situations are different and Bucks situation is closer to Raptors firing Dwayne Casey to hire Nurse.

Don't see the Bucks firing Budenholzer at this point. Carlisle can coach the Pacers to the first or second round of the playoffs for the rest of his career for all I care.
We're gonna actually hire a young up and coming coach and unlike what some others think about our vacancy, the pels job is a big time opportunity for anyone.
