You don't offer a max contract to a guy that averages 12 and 8. I mean, Okafor isn't worth what he is getting paid, so why pay even more for a player that isn't that much better?

Disagree. His numbers have gone up the last month because Randolph started playing better. He will never be a primary option and will probably never be a #2 option either. Solid player, but not worth anything close to the max.

This. Marc Gasol is not an elite athlete, will never be an elite player, and is not worth elite money.

There are just so few centers out there that any decent one ends up getting overpaid
