As part of the new CBA, if a team goes over the second tax apron, their 1st round pick 7 years out is unable to be traded, sources told me & @wojespn. Teams that then exceed the apron twice over the following four years will have that pick dropped to the end of the 1st round.
So if you're over the 2nd apron 3 out of 4 years, your 1st round pick in 7 years from (now or the time of the first offense?) will get automatically dropped to the end of the 1st round?

Yup.
It seems like Joe Lacob and his comments about the tax being punitive while his team still racks up 100 million in profit rubbed the small markets that have to stay under the tax to make 20-40 million in profit the wrong way, and they’re out to punish him.

ONLY 20-40 million. Scraping by, not to mention the near straight line appreciation of their teams.
