Pontchartrain is too shallow, but orcas do live in the Gulf of Mexico.

Didn't know there were orcas in the gulf.
There are exceptions to everything though, and any larger animal will attack a smaller animal if it means protecting itself, its domain, or its affiliates.
When I say natural predators, it doesn't mean nothing eats pelicans. It means there aren't any animals that see it as viable prey to hunt regularly for food.
