The Pelicans are signing Dereon Seabron to a new two-way deal, sources tell @TheAthletic
.
He'll be in Minnesota with the team for today's regular-season finale vs Minnesota.
I can't imagine they cut him, tried to sign someone else to a 2 way and failed, usually you have those moves lined up before cutting the first guy. I wonder if this is giving him a 2 way for more than this year? Why would they have to waive him for that though?

I was very curious too, a very promising player. Seabron consistently gets and finishes at the rim, pressuring defenses. If he continues to develop his outside shot he is going to log significant minutes on an NBA team.

Over the weekend, the New Orleans Pelicans waived Dereon Seabron from his two-way deal, only to sign him to another two-way after he cleared waivers.
The was done to add a second year to Seabron's deal. He's now under contract through next season, a league source tells @spotrac.
There you go. The 2nd year you sometimes see on these 2 ways matter. EJ was already on a 2 year 2 way which will let the Pels wait until next year to convert him.
