and he sees the field?
also, the saints aren't a power running team at all. If a little fullback could excel anywhere it would in a system like the Saints.

Runnels isn't fighting to be the starter, just a roster spot.

on a team with an interior running game, and doesn't throw 499 times per game. he's too small for most traditional schemes.

Carson Palmer threw the ball 575 times in 2007 which was 3rd in the NFL that year. Think again bucko fricko.

that was not their desire, unlike the Saints and Payton. Rudi Johnson was injured in 2007 and missed a lot of time. The bengals offense ideally has a mix of power running and deep balls. you need a larger FB to make the physical running game effective.
Look at every year prior to 2007 when Rudi was healthy, the bengals usually passed 100+ times fewer than Brees has the last few years....and the offense featured lots in interior runs and play actions.
Runnels just doesn't have the needed bulk and power to be the lead blocker in that scheme. Apparently every other GM in football feels pretty much the same way.

They've been ranked in the bottom half of the NFL in rushing attempts the past 3 years.

don't believe that. Rudi had 341 carries in 2006.

They were 20th. Their next leading rusher was carson with 26 carries. Just cause Rudi carried the rock all the time doesn't mean team wise, that their rush attempts were above average.

gotcha...but their style of carries still dictate the need for a large FB. Rudi, and now Benson, are btn the tackle guys. They aren't like the SD backs, or even NOLA backs.

Oh, it's their style of running. Their RB is the biggest pussy of them all.. Cedric Benson.

he really is. Being an interior style Rb and also being a pussy usually doesn't work out too well.
