On a serious note:
I can see that I hit a huge nerve by disrespecting Reggie. But really, he is just an average slot back "all purpose" type of player and we are placing our whole offense (or 75%) of it around him. Today he was our leading receiver with not much yardage and our leading rusher with 28 yards. He is not mister everything. We need a powerful running game to extend drives and open up our passing game more.
He is great when he gets in the open field, but then again who isn't? It's a lot harder and happens less often to get in the open field in the NFL. If you notice on his highlight films he is running wild over weak defenses not just in the PAC 10 but mostly in their out of conference games which were weaker than the PAC 10.
He's exciting, and he's fun when he dives and cuts flips in the end zone or returns punts like today, but we need a strong short yardage power running back. Third down's need to be picked up so as to extend drives, give our wounded defense longer breaks and damnit win football games consistently!

if anyone argues that reggie is a short yardage or power back, then they're dumb. the term used to describe reggie's running style is scat back. yea we need that power back to compliment him, we also need a better o line to open some better holes. goodwin sucks and he needs to be replaced ASAP.

I agree with you, we have got to have #1 either a healthy duece, that we know can most of the time do the deal in these situatons, or #2 light a fire in our o line and not only pass block well, but run block

oh well, maybe the Broncos have a lot WAC or PAC 10 defenders on their team and Reggie will have a great day!
But if he doesn't, I better not see any of you bashing him!

Well when we trade him I'll stop crying about it!

Posted on 9/14/08 at 11:46 pm to BasClas
bush is not the problem...he is good as a slot guy and dump off back....and he should be our permanent PR....why do you pull him after he scores? do the bears pull hester? no they make teams either kick to him or punt it out of bounds wiht good field position....the coach is an idiot on his bungling of the reggie touches situation....its not about a quota, its about putting the player in the right positons to contribute....
Posted on 9/14/08 at 11:51 pm to tennisanyone2
knowing now what we know about devin hester as only a special team player.. would he be worthy as a first round pick?
